B.Berrian - What happened yesterday (1 Viewer)

Rounders

Footballguy
Berrian had been playing well and I had him in my lineup as my WR2 yesterday. I see that he did not catch a ball. Was he targetted? Did Woodson and the Pack just shut him down? Did he get hurt? Anyone who watched the game got an opinion?

TIA.

The corners shurt down the passing game. Frerrote basically had an interception every other time he tried to throw a deep ball to him. It seemed like GB wanted ADP to beat them instead of the passing game....and oh did he beat them hehe.

Same for me, although I read on ESPN or CNNSI fantasy page that he might have a bad game due to the matchup with GB secondary, and that is exactly what happened. I nearly benched him for MuMu, should have done that. He just got shut down, Frerotte didn't play particulary well, nothing opened up downfield, and Peterson just went nuts. I read that there is nothing wrong with Berrian so hopefully he should pick up starting (hopefully) next week, which is our doubleheader week.

The Green Bay corners were very physical with him and challenged him at the line of scrimmage all day. He had trouble getting into his routes and Frerotte struggled as well.

Harris is healthy, and Woodson has been a monster lately.

Now if the pack can only figure our how to keep a team to less than 175 yards rushing!

Oh, and I made the bone head move of starting Berrian over Wayne yesterday. . . .i deserved what I got

Packers have the league's best secondary

Woodson has surrendered the lowest percentage of completed passes of any DB in the NFL

I wouldn't be too worried about Berrian. I didn't even know Al Harris was back in the lineup, if I did, I wouldn't have played him. The fact that Gus kept throwing to him even after 3 ints, is a good sign. If I remember correctly, Berrian deflected a pass that almost got intercepted.

BB isn't talented enough to beat that coverage.... Berrian is good, but not elite.

Your going to get games like this w/ him.... hes having a decent season

Packers have a soft run D and a tough pass D particularly with their CBs versus the WRs. Add in Gus's struggles and you have a game featuring lots of Adrian Peterson and underneath passes to whoever is open.

I'll get it started...

I'm going to go out on a limb and say they make a concerted effort to get him involved this week and he finds the endzone..

3-75, 1 TD

Really hoping I can count on Berrian down the stretch to be a decent WR2. Of course guys are gonna have bad games from time to time, but goose eggs scare me. Not so much the early one with T-Jax under center, but this more recent one. Doesn’t the base Tampa 2 D allow the short stuff underneath while focusing on not giving up the big play? This game may favor Wade or Rice more than the deep threat Berrian, but I'm plugging in Berrian anyway as I have no real other choice (a banged up Mason)
