B.Edwards vs the Eagles (sleeper alert) (1 Viewer)

I'm not sure I even believe what I am typing, but Braylon Edwards might not be a bad sleeper play Monday night vs the Eagles.

In three of the last four games Edwards has gotten 16 looks per game. Granted he hasn't done much with those touches, but they have been actively trying to get him involved.

Combine that with the fact that this is a Monday night game in what amounts to the last reason the Browns have to play a big game this season and I think you have the potential for a pretty good game from Edwards.

Any thoughts?

I liked Braylon a lot before the season, but at some point you have to face facts.

1. he's been targeted a lot

2. he hasn't done much with his opportunities

Now, what you analyze is up to you, but usually, the opportunities will be taken from a player who consistently does nothing with those he is given.

Asante Samuel will shut him down if he plays, even with a hurt ankle. Edwards will just drop half of the other passes. :goodposting:

Something you may want to consider before playing Braylon Edwards, he can't catch a football.

HTH

Agree w/ Hoss - it's hard to count on Dorsey's noodle arm esp. @ PHI on MNF. Yea, CLE will be down and forced to throw - but it really won't matter. i.e. BE has done NOTHING w/ these lofty target #s (even @ home). Why do you think he's going to now vs. a better team on the road - when PHI has something to play for???

CLE players know Romeo is a dead man walking and they're collecting paychecks.

I'm playing Reggie Williams over Braylon b/c Dorsey could set the NFL record for getting sacked.

As a BE owner and Browns fan, all I can say is

I'm with you but only because I have to be. These are my other options so you shouldn't be too excited someone is on the bandwagon

Maurice Morris, FWP, Hines Ward, D Hixon and B Engram

Here is to hoping Braylon springs one big play to get me into the finals.

Don't think it's going to happen though.

The targets (and by the way, its 16, 15, and 14) don't paint the whole picture and actually are the positive outlook on the CLE situation.Edwards has 45 targets in those 3 games but just 16 catches and 227 total yards with 0 TDs.Sometimes a guy gets a lot of chances simply because he's the only option. Targets don't tell you the accuracy of the throws nor if he is double-covered.Sure he has a chance but he's far from a sure thing.

I'm in somewhat the same situation, facing the top scoring team in the league this week, I have to choose two of Holmes/Edwards/Breaston. I'm benching Braylon.
