Backup QB in Arizona... (1 Viewer)

Forgive me if this has been raised in another thread, but I got to thinking this past week... wouldn't Bledsoe make an ideal backup / starter in Arizona? He's got a cannon for an arm, and with the running scheme in place - they've become a solid running team... which in turn takes away some of the heat that the statuesque-Bledsoe would face. With the receiving weapons they have in Arizona - this would seem like a natural fit.

My :banned:

Mort said on ESPN radio this morning that Arizona will likely sign Tim Hasselbeck on Monday, fyi. He also mentioned that the Cards were interested in Testaverde fwiw.

I'd rather have Bledsoe than Testaverde.
Really?
Well, let's just look at the facts.Blesoe is 35 and was a starting NFL QB one year ago. His averages:

200 yards, 1.5 TDs, 1.5 turnovers, 2.7 sacks (-6.7 yards per sack)

Testaverde is about to turn 44 and has not been a starter for over 2 years.

The last time Testaverde started (4 games in 2005), here were his averages:

142 yards, 0.5 TDs, 2.0 turnovers, 2.5 sacks (-8.8 yards per sack)

In 4 starts, he had 4 INTs, 4 Fumbles Lost, and ZERO passing touchdowns.

I think the facts speak for themselves.

Yes, those numbers speak nothing of the situations they were in. I'll stand by my "Really? :lmao: "

Wisenhunt was on Sirius yesterday saying they put in a call to Vinny before he signed with Carolina. Later, they had a short sound byte from Bledsoe saying he'd received some calls this week, but wants to stay retired.

Situations? You mean like when Testaverde played powerhouse Buffalo (5-11, #24 defense) and threw 2 INTs, had 2 fumbles, and got sacked 5 times while showing all the speed and agility of Abe Lincoln (the statue, not the president)?
