So looking at both this year's potential and the long-term outlook, how do you rank the young RBs who are an injury/opportunity away from being a starter. I'm talking about guys like:

Cedric Benson

Michael Robinson

Musa Smith

Jerius Norwood

LenDale White

Chris Perry

Brandon Jacobs

etc.

Who would be your top 5 or so to stash away "just in case"?

Tough to rank those guys.. I'd have to say:

Cedric Benson

Jerius Norwood

LenDale White

Musa Smith

Chris Perry

Brandon Jacobs

Michael Robinson

The first 3 have very good opportunities to be #1 RBs sometime in the near future. Musa has a slim chance, but I'd say the other 3 will mostly likely remain role players.

Michael Turner belongs at the top of this list.

You also forgot Deangelo Williams.

In deep dynasty leagues I would also add:

Ciatrick Fason

Ryan Moats

Both Jamal and Musa are on 1 year contracts and Lewis isn't exactly kicking butt this year. I'm thinking one will be gone next year with cap constraints. Smith has looked the better of the 2 in limited action. I think Smith might be a Lamont Jordan/Chester Taylor in the offseason and get some big offers preventing the Ravens from keeping both - thus making Smith a starter somewhere (or with the Ravens) next season.Benson I'd knock down a slot or 2 as Thomas Jones seems entranched as the starter. He has a better YPC than Benson. Benson will be a lot like Perry - a 1st rounder limited to backup/ spot duty.Tiki will be retiring sooner than later - he's already been considering this as possibly his last season. Jacobs has looked strong at times. He'll take over next year or the one after depending on Tiki. My order:WhiteSmithNorwoodJacobsBensonPerryRobinson

I'm sitting on Norwood and J. Harrison in a deep 32 team league. I've been getting a ton of trade offers for Norwood but nothing fair in value. So I'm content to sit tight. I have Norwood signed to a 3 year deal and Harrison to a 2 year deal. I have Foster and Jamal ( :X ) as my starters for now.

I agree that Turner should be on the list. And MJD. I was down on MJD at the beginning of the year but he has shown excellent leg strength and big play ability. He can move the pile in goalline situations even though he's only 5'3".

I see almost no chance for Musa Smith to be signed as a starter on some other team after this season. He has a big injury history and really hasn't shown much. Baltimore will be looking to the draft or in free agency for a new starter at RB IMO.
