I haven't been able to catch any Jags or Panthers games this year. I know Pasquino was pimping King pretty hard in the offseason. He's gotten off to a good start, but obviously may take a hit with Carr in the lineup. Likewise, Lewis has always been a guy with a lot of potential, is starting to see his targets creep up, and JAX doesn't have great receivers to steal all the receptions.

Given their current situations, who makes for a better backup/bye-replacement TE for the rest of the season?

Of those two guys, I'd have to go with Jeff King. Even though he had only 1 catch last week, he was still targeted 5 times. He's had at least 5 targets in every game this year...not bad for a backup TE.

In addition to Jeff King and Marcedes Lewis, don't forget about Donald Lee in Green Bay. He's getting targeted consistently and I think it's safe to assume that Favre will continue to throw the ball a lot this year.
