Bad trade causing turmoil (1 Viewer)

12 team redraft league. Team A traded away Barber and Ocho Cinco for Torain and DeAngelo Williams. Team B is currently in 5th place and trying to get into a playoff spot but they were floundering. Team A Is in 5th place in their division without not much hope of getting in but they still have a shot. Barber and Cinco are on byes this week. Barber and Johnson signficantly improve Team B. Team B claims it is a good trade because they had high hopes for Torain, he was slated to be the starter this year(I dont know) and they drafted him and sat on hom all year which backs up their claim(according to them). Both teams have partners that were unaware of the trade. Since then the Team B partner has stepped up in favor. go figure. Team B also claims that Williams is awesome because of his 30pt week(fluke) and is only 30pts behind Barber in the standing(it is actually 44pts). Team A have other offers on the table from other teams that were more "fair". I think one was Hightower, Roy williams or Thomas Jones and Cotchery, something like that. I had offered Jacobs and Kevin Curtis for Barber earlier

Collussion is very tough to prove but this trade stinks. I told the commish that this trade harms the integrity of the league. The commish agrees the trade was bad, stupid but not illegal and we dont has rules against bad or dumb trades.

Your commish is wise.

You don't get to decide what trade is the most "fair" for any team other than your own.Seriously, what is up with you people? No collusion, no problem. Go cry somewhere else.

I'm confused, this is a redraft ? Does team A realize Torain is on IR ? Does Team B ? Was it approved and completed before the Thursday game ?

How does he use the bolded part as justification for this trade with a straight face? Torain is out for the year and has zero value in a redraft league. Just because they had high hopes for him doesn't mean his ACL is going to magically heal so he can play next week.

Am I the only one who does not think this trade was THAT BAD? Ocho Stinko is a shell of his former self. Barber has been struggling down the stretch. D'Ang has been great in recent weeks. This is not exactly a fair trade, but it's not that bad either. I'm going to assume this was done before Thurday nights game.

You can't make rules to combat anything other than collusion. You can't legislate stupidity. Etc etc etc. There is not one legitimate thing wrong with this trade as far as the rules are concerned.

a) It's not an unfair trade.

b) It's not a bad trade. Barber's homestretch is tough, Ocho Cinco has been mediocre at best.

c) A league is only as good as it's commish. Rule it fairly and if there is any noise afterwards, discuss and dispell it with only the parties involved. Don't drag it onto a league messageboard. If you have trust in your commish, you take what you think is the bad with the good.

My two cents as a commish with 16 yrs under his belt. Never had one team leave the league from bad feelings over a trade.

You should join a league that doesn't allow trades or make a rule in your league that all trades MUST be approved by you.

You should mind your own business. It sounds more like bad owners are causing turmoil.

The trade was before torain injury.

"You should mind your own business. It sounds more like bad owners are causing turmoil". it is a money league, it is my business." trades are everybody's business.

team A gave the other team a huge advantage for basically nothing in return( even if torain was healthy I would say that), they had better offers on the table. Many owners are upset with the trade, thus the "turmoil" . I understand you points of view, that is why I post here, for objective opinions. Thank you.

Here is another dumb trade this week in our league. T.O. and Julius Jones for Ray Rice and Isaac Bruce. Bruce and Rice were just picked up off the waive wire. The team that got Issac Bruse and Rice asked for the trade and are happy with it. This trade is a bad trade but I trust the teams, the other trade I don't trust the teams involved in the other trade.

Well said. Not a great trade, but hardly reversible. No collusion whatsoever. Doesn't kill the integrity of the league. Move on...

I agree. These types of posts should be relegated to the AC forum. Tired of whiney "unfair" trade posts this year. :coffee:

let me guess, no one makes trade offers with you...you're one of those

looked a pretty even trade going into the thursday night game IMO

owners crying about deals ... worst part of fantasy football ..

no collusion = no veto .. GET OVER IT

What exactly is so dumb about the new trade? I see that as a fair trade and i don't give a rats patutdee weather Rice was plucked off the wire. It sounds like your one of "those guys".

Team A doesn't understand the value of Barber and Johnson, that's for sure. Doesn't have to be an issue of collusion or not, sounds like it was within the league's rules. But if I were an owner in that league, I'd really wonder about Team A's owner. If nothing else, I'd try and teach him that if he shops around his stars to the entire league, he'd probably get a LOT more in return. Unless he was just really excited about getting a player on IR.

Again, it comes down to trust, some guys you trust and some you dont. I think most agree the trade was onesided. Torain was all upside but not from the stand point of value versus Barber. High risk.medum reward. As far as whinny goes. most of the league is griping about it, even teams in the division the the new torain owner think is was fishy. I was looking for objective input. Thanks to the levelheaded responses from most. And thanks for the idiotic childish reponses from others, its all good :lmao: BTW I have no issues with the Rice Trade and the new T.O. owner is in my divisionAnd you guys are right this should have been in the AC forum, sorry for that
