Bengals rookie WR Reggie McNeal arrested in Houston

CINCINNATI (AP) -Bengals rookie wide receiver Reggie McNeal was arrested in Houston and was charged with resisting arrest after being refused entrance to a nightclub early Sunday, the Bengals said Monday.

McNeal, a former Texas A&M quarterback, was the Bengals’ sixth-round pick in the 2006 college draft. He has been on the Bengals’ roster since Sept. 19 but has played sparingly, team spokesman Jack Brennan said.

‘‘We have been informed that Reggie has been arrested,’’ Brennan said. ‘‘We don’t feel it’s appropriate to comment on a matter that’s not resolved.’’

McNeal is the seventh Bengals player arrested this year.

Somehow, after having seen Bengals fans suffer for about 15 years with one horrible team after another, my heart just isn't in bashing the Bengals now that they finally have something to cheer for. And I'm a Browns fan, so if anything they are a rival. Give the franchise and their fans a break. Sheesh. All they have to show for 2 years of excitement is a heartbreaking loss at home to the Steelers last year with their superstar QB suffering a major injury.

Isn't McNeal the owner of the vehicle Chris Henry puked out of while some other Bengal was being arrested?

These soap operas are so hard to keep track of.

Well, he was in it, when Odell got busted. It'll be interesting to see if Marvin cuts him, which would make him appear hypocritical.

It just never ends.

Coach Lewis needs to find the root and kill it.

Someone has to force the players take some personal responsibility in their lives and it should be Coach Lewis.

To some of these players playing time is worth more than doing time. He is the only one with the controls.

Coach Lewis is the root. He sets the tone and is the guy who brought in these players.

If you win who cares? NFL players aren't role models, they are athletes. As long as they do their time, it is all good on the football field.

Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together,

Browns fans defending the Bengals,

Mass Hysteria!

This is especially funny due to Lewis saying in the locker room after Thursdays game..."I don't want any phone call on Sunday".

Even Chad Johnson was on the post-game show....when they asked him who Marvin Lewis was talking about....Micheal Irvin siad "Chris Henry", and even Chad cracked a little smirk.

That team is just filled with dumb, young kids with money who want to be "balla's".

It's pathetic to see atheletes act this way.....at least in the old days, guys would just drink and bang hookers without getting arrested.

The NFL should put a No Gun policy in it. If a player is caught with a gun in public....fire his gangsta ###, then see how hard he is when he is working at a fast food place.

some of this stuff is sensationalized by media...

it gets to be a real problem when thurman gets suspended for four games, then right before he is sceduled to come back he commits ANOTHER bonehead move to lose him for season...

the team was counting on him, & frankly isn't as good without him at MLB... they may miss the playoffs in part due to that... sounds like character is a pretty big deal to me...

if they cut him after just one season, it is safe to say they could have put that second round pick to a lot better use...
