Baltimore at Detroit (1 Viewer)

Wow, they were working hard to lay the jinx on that FG. But Tucker has so much swag, he overcomes even that

Lol fix is in.....sorry Calvin owners, that is ridiculous.
So the argument is the greatest WR of the last 25 years is intentionally dropping passes so his team might lose a vital game that could cost them the playoffs? Makes sense.
It was more of a joke, although he's playing that bad it wouldn't shock me because the guy is normally so good. He is freakishly dominant in some games but this game here is why he'll never be a Jerry Rice who made all the plays in big time games for many years.
Yeah, I've heard too much about his drops. Top players need to be reliable as well...

Is Bush hurt? I was following stats and he was killing it and then nothing... Bell in on 2 minute drill? Isn't Reggie a top pass catching back?

I like the call, he led with the helmet and no PI.
He led with his hands but because the Wr move back and down trying to reach the ball incidental contact was made with the head. There is no way for defenders to avoid things like that.
Theyll never do it but i wish they could officiate it on intent and severity....a lot of these are just incidental and unavoidable, and the WR is fine

Calvin has dropped a lot this year. A couple of them resulted in picks, too. He's still a monster, but for some reason he's had a rough year with drops.

This is unreal...I went in to this game needing 23 points to win with Stafford, Johnson, and Pitta to play. No problem right? In the first half they have given me:

Stafford 4 points

Johnson .8 points

Pitta 2.4 points

A grand total of 7.2 points. Seriously?!?!?!?

Good grief!!

Terrible clock management on that drive IMO. They wasted a lot of time there. Oof!
ONly spot they took their time was on third down at midfield. Odd to walk off with 2 timeouts in pocket, but other than on that third down, they were pretty efficient. Twice the receiver ran OOB, and once it stopped on defensive penalty. Only twice snapped with a running clock, the first being early in the drive and only 19 seconds after the previous snap, the second the beforementioned thrid down play. Ran 8 plays in 1:20, including 3 plays in the last 16 seconds.

That's pretty efficient if you ask me

Wait you liek that call? Do you like powder puff too?

Was the football of 10 years ago too manly for you?
I liked that it wasn't called PI as I initially thought that's what they called. Out of the two, I thought it was more of a lead by the helmet than a PI. Try and not get personal bud, but if you must you should at least be accurate when talking to me, I watched football since the early 70s so that's 40 years ago not 10.

Yeah we've basically gotten to the point where defenders are penalized for trying to play defense. Simply pathetic.

Brutal first half for Stafford and Megatron, but as usual, the Lions offense looks like they are dicking around with stupid crap when they are winning, so hopefully the Ravens extend the lead at the start of the 3rd so the Lions offense starts clicking. I swear, that happens on cue almost every week.

Ravens' pass protection has been the story of the game. Time for Baltimore to give up the run and put your season in Flacco's hands.

That's what you're paying him $20 million for. Ravens are going to have to score TDs to win this game.

Second story of the game - Megatron's struggles. Has he ever come up smaller on a big stage? But he can explode at any instant.

I'm sorry does the defender have an obligation to step aside so the receiver can go back to the under thrown ball? seriously??
Not if he turns his head...he was riding the receiver down the field and never turned. It should have been an easy pi call.

I agree, it was the same kind of thing with Stafford in the first quarter, the guys are running full speed, not in slow motion like we see on replays. I am not sure what defenses can do, I really don't.

Just the normal rotation for Detroit, no? He averages 34 snaps a game.

ETA: Sorry, not clear....Joique has 441 snaps in 13 games coming into tonight - pretty normal for him to be out there a lot.

I think I've figured it out. Calvin just wanted to make Pettigrew feel better for a half so he dropped several passes to build team moral. Yeah, I'll stick with that... :bag:

Seems like Jason Garrett/Bill Callahan took over playcalling....drops also havent helped as theyve killed drives

Wasn't watching until the last 2 minutes, I guess he's not hurt from your comments...

Amazing that one of your playmakers is playing very well and you stop giving him the ball. Not like this is an important game or anything

Its unfortunate but that is where it is. Lions first TD never happens without the crappy call on Stafford as well.

As one of the announcers said yesterday during a slant, there are plays/catches that will occur now that would never have happened 5 years ago. Going over the middle now will be more common and the onus will be on the defender.

These coaches get frustrated too easy. I don't know why they have gone away with it but they have lost momentum since they have, just like the Cowboys did. The Lions D doing a good job of just giving up 3s.

If they didn't blow all of that time on that mid field call they wouldn't have had to rush three days in 16 seconds. They could have easily had a couple of shots at a TD if they played that smarter.

It's possible I am slightly biased.
I may be a by too tonight. Still think it was pi because the defender never looked back to play the ball as the wr tried to work back to it.

HI! Totally trashed Ravens fan here to spend the last 32 minutes of gametime with you.

No Lions pass rush so far, good Ravens secondary, plus one huge Calvin drop.

Make that two.
BTW, 2 minutes of game action in the 22 minutes since I posted this. The NFL is awesome!

I know it, I dont even know why theyd be frustrated....they were gashing them on the ground. Although I think there would be a little more continuity without the dropped passes killing drives

That's the difference between Flacco, who is good, and an elite QB. Elite QB converts that third down throw.

wow, i knew jerry rice was considered possibly the greatest player ever, but i didnt realize he never even dropped a ball.

Feels like Baltimore is only capable of so much....if Detroit can just quit shooting themselves in the foot offensively they should blow this open soon

Interesting to see the halftime adjustments. Ravens' led to a three and out. Have a feeling the Lions are going to be able to start getting some things going.

general vicinity is fine Calvin will find it

just don't hit him in the numbers

Outside of Wes Welker, is there any WR in the NFL who looks like he gets pounded as much as Calvin Johnson? Every catch he looks like he gets absolutely obliterated.
