BALTIMORE RAVENS THREAD (1 Viewer)

Let's talk about the Purple and Black. For the 3rd straight preseason they went undefeated which doesn't mean a thing really and once again the defensive unit is a huge piece of why the team could shine in 2018. There were a few good moments in the 2018 preseason for the Ravens and some not so good ones.

The not so good moments were Jimmy Smith being suspended for 4 games which in my opinion he deserved.

Rookie 1st Round pick TE Hayden Hurst having surgery and will miss the beginning of the season.

Former 1st Round Pick WR Breshad Perriman had one great game and than went back to his lackluster play eventually getting cut.

The moments that stood out as good were 1sr Round pick QB Lamar Jackson had several shining moments especially while running the football.

New WR John Brown looks liked the real deal and has explosive speed. He seems to be on the same page as Joe Flacco in the limited time they were on the field.

The Defensive just continues to improve and even on the back end.

The Ravens could easily be a 9-7 team and wouldn't surprise me if all goes well if they could end up as high as 11-5. They always seem to be in very close games so Justin Tucker is a huge part of the Ravens offense.

Personnel wise been a good offseason.  Glad I never have to hear about Perriman again but kind of surprised we rostered RG3.  Maybe he’s trade fodder.

overall though I’m vey excited about the potential for the type of explosive offense we’ve been trying to put together the last few years and haven’t been able to consistently.  If Flacco has a good year and we avoid key injuries this team will prove to be seriously underrated going into the season.

As a fan I need to see something beyond the first round of the playoffs to be convinced the Harbaugh era should continue.

Steelers inability to close could be huge for us late season.

If we beat the Bengals Thursday, who barely snuck by the Colts today, Ravens go from 15% preseason odds to win the division to 50% IMO.

I agree, Thursdays game is looking really important. The upgrade at WR is much better than I thought and this defense is something to be reckoned with.

Totally agree I am so happy with Flacco’s passing performance today.  And that’s in heavy rain.

Indy’s cornerbacks couldn’t even make our practice squad so I don’t want to get my hopes up but I like our odds given it’s an away game on a Thursday night.

doesnt hurt with a Thursday game next that many starters were sitting for the last 40% of the game today

That did help that it was a blow out this week and most of the starters sat most of the 2nd half. The more rest for the short week the better. Now let's get prepared for Cincy.

Good game by Ravens.  Defense looks stout and likely the best WR corps Flacco has ever had.

That said, Buffalo looks bad.

Ravens need to get retribution vs Cinnci.  especially since they knocked them out last year.  A win would mean a lot in Cinnci.

A road win in Cincy would be huge. I think if Flacco can continue to have the connection with the WR's on offense things will go well. The defense looks tremendous even if it was against Buffalo.

Criticizing the quality of Cincinnati's opponent while playing the odds on favorite for the #1 draft pick is a little short sighted.

Indy is world's better than Buffalo.

Agreed. Ravens need to show something Thursday.  Cinnci plays them well EVERY TIME.  Curious what spread will be...my guess less than a FG one way or other.

I think Cincy will be favored by 3 or less because they are home. It is going to be a very close game.
