Jets | Barlow could get the nod Week 2

Tue, 12 Sep 2006 14:35:02 -0700

Dave Hutchinson, of the Star-Ledger, reports New York Jets RB Kevan Barlow could be the team\'s starter at running back Week 2.

Getting ready for claims this week and was looking at Blaylock when I came across this tidbit. Could get the nod? Says who? Dave Hutchinson?

You put much weight in a statement like this?

Here's the actual quote from the Star-Ledger:

RB Kevan Barlow (11 carries, 35 yards, TD vs. Titans) has impressed Mangini and could get the starting nod (or at least more carries) against the Patriots. Barlow, criticized for not running hard in San Francisco, hit the hole with authority against Tennessee.
There's no direct quote or anything. It reads like reporter speculation to me.

So does Blaylock have any value at all? He's on my bench, but I'll dump him if he lost all his value (as if he ever had much).

I wouldn't dump him until he starts riding pine...A back in the league that gets 10-15 touches is worth rostering for sure.

I am starting him as a #3RB as well. Pat's looked weak against the run and I expect the Jets to feed him at least 20 carries.
