What's the latest on B Scott's playing staus for this weekend vs SD?

Dodds has him ranked 48th vs other LBs w/ only 8 Total Tackles & 0 sacks.

Does this ranking seem low to anyone else? Is the low ranking due to his injured foot?

Scott has 5 sacks already in 3 games along w/ 18 Total Tackles :D

Latest I've heard is he's Probable, in which case I'm sure he plays.

Am I missing something w/ him?

Also Gerald Haynes/LB/Arz plays Atl & Haynes is ranked the #1 LB this week.

Do you think Haynes will perform up to that ranking?

I realize Atl will run all day giving Haynes plenty of tackle opportunities :D

Thanks for your feedback

John Norton does our IDP projections. I've impersonated him before but I'll PM him to take this one.

Look at who the Ravens have played so far. The Chargers aren't the Bucks, Raiders or Browns. Scott has put up good numbers but just because he has 5 sacks in the first three games doesn't mean he can be counted on for one every week. He'll be hard pressed to put up 5 more over the rest of the season. The foot injury figures in (I believe he was questionable earlier in the week) and I downgraded his sack potential not only for the match up but because Suggs looks like less than a 50/50 shot to play. If he is out, the offense will have a lot less to worry about which will make it tougher for the rest of the pass rushers. Scott will never keep up the pace he has set through the first three weeks. As for Hayes at #1, he may or may not finish as the top LB but barring an injury he is a very safe bet to have a very good week. One of the most important considerations with weekly projections and/or rankings is the confidence factor. He's put up some strong numbers so far and with this match up I have a lot of confidence in him in this one. Best of luck this week

Thanks. I'll leave my Norton mask off then. :) Firstly, as you may already realize, the projection/cheatsheet issue can be delicate. Oftentimes, the difference between the #4 and #20 player in the projections is very minimal and a tackle or sack here or there may make the two projections equal in terms of raw fantasy points. The decimals in the projections this season make them a little more accurate. But the #4 and #20 WR are much further apart in raw fantasy points than the IDP lists. In this case, 6 points of value is significant.I may be proven wrong on Scott but I think he's the fourth best option on this team for fantasy points -- and the third best linebacker -- based on the opportunity provided by the Ravens' defensive scheme. I don't think the scheme will allow much consistency for Scott at all. Although he has three sacks, the Ravens have played three of the worst interior defensive lines in the league thus far. I just don't see him getting a sack or two every game -- he's not an elite pass rusher. And the Chargers have yet to give up a sack in 48 pass attempts. They should also keep this game tight enough where Rivers won't have to throw the ball downfield often.I'm fairly high on Hayes but I don't know that he has the #1 matchup among LB this week. I think it's a very good matchup, though, and clearly better than Scott's.Were Norton to project Scott to get a full sack this week, his raw point projection would jump him to 18 on the cheatsheet which highlights the reason for the above disclaimer about projections and cheatsheets for IDPs. The projections and cheatsheets are more useful in determining relative value than anything else.

Scott won't end up with 27 sacks on the season? :o Seriously though, with 11 solos and a pick this week, Scott is a must-start at LB these days.

Scott is becoming a stud. It's great to see him put up great stats without getting a sack.

So can Scott continue this level of play all season or are there just too many studs in the Ravens D for anyone to dominate week in and week out?
