Well said!About damn time !STL 1B Albert Pujols wins NL MVP.
Hmm, a young, cheap, talented hitter for a aging, expensive, and possibly blind hitter.I fail to see the genius in this deal.ESPN's Buster Olney reports that NYM is trading OF Mike Cameron to SDP, perhaps for P Akinori Otsuka.
EDIT: ESPNNews is reporting it's Cameron for OF/1B Xavier Nady, pending Cameron passing an eye exam.
When was the last time 2 teams ever traded 2 young potential stars to each other?RUMOR
Got this from a guy at work who is usually reliable. Hank Blalock for Josh Beckett. Lowell and prospects also involved.
The only way it would make sense is if the Mets acquire a power hitting RFer and platoon Nady and Jacobs at 1B.Cameron for Xavier Nady.....
Hope this leads to somethin else
Nady's apparently being used as a chp to land Delgado. The only way it would make sense is if the Mets acquire a power hitting RFer and platoon Nady and Jacobs at 1B.Cameron for Xavier Nady.....

I heard this also on ESPN Radio while driving around earlier.RUMOR

How many years will it be until Seattle opens a farm team in Okinawa?SEA signs C Kenji Johjima to a reported 3 Year/$16.5 million contract.
From what I'm reading and hearing, the teams are working hard to get this done. The Rangers apparently have offered Fla their choice of Danks or Diamond (2 of their top pitching prospects) with Blalock in return for Lowell and Beckett.RUMOR

I hope this means Burnett signs with the Cardinals. With the new revenue from the stadium and radio deal i would also like to see us sign Dotel and Giles.FLA trades P Josh Beckett and 3B Mike Lowell to BOS for minor league SS Hanley Ramirez, minor league P Anibal Sanchez and a PTBNL (possibly minor league P Jesus Delgado).
Never really thought of the possibility of Burnett signing with the Cardinals. If we had let Suppan go, I could have seen a rotation like this:CarpenterI hope this means Burnett signs with the Cardinals. He should send the Muts a thank you card for driving up his price when he goes to ATL.The Mets plan to make an offer to Wagner today according to Newsday. Probably something like $30 mil for 3 years or $35 for 4. The trip to NY went well and The Mets have to be considered the favorites to land him right now as they have the most money to spend (more than Atl and Phi).
Aaron Rowand has been mentioned in every trade rumor this off-season.Brandon McCarthy will not be traded.Another RUMOR:
CHW trade OF Aaron Rowand and either P Jose Contreras or P Brandon McCarthy to PHI for 1B Jim Thome.
EDITORIAL COMMENT: That makes absolutely no sense to me unless PHI is eating a ton of Thome's salary.
Oh, and Mr. Know-It-All, a few pages back I scoffed at your suggestion that TEX would try and deal Blalock. Clearly, I was wrong. On top of that, I have looked at Blalock much more carefully since, and am now convinced he is over-rated. My bad. Sorry about that.
I believe the report was that Phillies were asking for Rowand and Contreras or McCarthy. They can ask for whatever they want, it doesn't mean an offer is on the table.Another RUMOR:

That "Damn Center of the Universe"And because no one gives a crap about anything else except for what happens in New York, ESPNews is trumpeting the fact that the "Mets make initial offer to Billy Wagner." Look on the bottom right corner and it's posted there.
Sick.

See, I don't have a problem with that. Why? Because there was an actual trade! Rumors don't belong as "breaking news".You think that ESPNews would do the same for the Cardinals if they made an offer to AJ Burnett? HELL NO.And now they are trumpeting the news that the Mets traded for Delgado. Thanks for posting this, bialczabub. Are there any prospects changing hands? I read/heard somewhere that CHW would be sending PHI minor league P Gio Gonzalez, I believe John Sickels' #5 CHW prospect...The WHite Sox have traded Aaron Rowand to the Phillies for Jim Thome and cash.

I hated to see Rowand get traded, but hopefully with Thome being healthy, this trade will pay off!Aaron Rowand has been mentioned in every trade rumor this off-season.Brandon McCarthy will not be traded.Another RUMOR:

I wouldn't be surprised if the White Sox get somebody to take El Duque's final season (about 4 million) with Rowand.
As for the Phillies/Thome, he said Chicago would be a place he would like to be traded to, and the White Sox have shown interest - but the Phillies would have to pick up a big portion of the salary.
I liked Pinto more than most, but he's had some control problems that he just couldn't lick. Everytime he's had an opportunity on a big stage, he's failed...so I wouldn't be sad to let him go. I'd be shocked if FLA couldn't get Ryu from the Cubs though (who is a much better long term prospect than Pinto).** I've also heard *****RUMOR*** Cubs to acquire Juan Pierre for prospect Renyel Pinto ( ) and 2 unnamed prospects.
I hope Pinto isn't Willis part deux.
They better start providing full body armor for fans in the outfield if Morris signs with Colorado. My Brewers connection says they've made a pretty hefty offer to Matt Morris on a 3 year deal, but Colorado is offering a 3 year deal for more money. It'll be interesting to see where he ends up. The Dodgers offered him a pretty sweet deal but would only guarantee 2 years with a 3rd year option.
I'm with you on this one. Funny thing about Morris: After Daryl Kile (former Rockies pitcher) died, it was learned that Morris was pretty much Kile's best friend and also learned how to throw his curveball after him. Morris and Kile are similar pitchers. He'll be best suited to go to Milwaukee by far.Absolutely undraftable in fantasy leagues if he goes there.Helloooooooo Mike Hampton. They better start providing full body armor for fans in the outfield if Morris signs with Colorado. My Brewers connection says they've made a pretty hefty offer to Matt Morris on a 3 year deal, but Colorado is offering a 3 year deal for more money. i owned him in my fantasy leagues that year. After Kyle died, he was never the same. Didnt really recover until last year, and even so, his curve ball isnt what it used to be. Colorado would be a career ending disaster. I think that's why COL is offering the most money. I was surprised to see the Brewers come on strong...they don't strike me as the kind of team to throw around money. I think if the Dodgers make that third year guaranteed, he'd go there.Orioles have talked with him too (thanks, info courtesy of "Cardinal Nation") but no mention of what they've offered money wise.i owned him in my fantasy leagues that year.
