I still don't understand why me being 20 years old matter when it comes to gambling? Why does me not betting $100 a game matter either? What do you have to bet substantial amounts of money of sports to increase your credibility? I thought this is why we work in "units?""Pretty"? I believe his words were, "way, WAY down". Sports Frog is running an article yesterday that is predicting 14 Ks out of the kid. I don't know- He's had some minor injuries in the past and his current stats are only off 7 games. But Reds are not that good against the minor league call-ups the article says.Philly article

Do you still have a webpage up somewhere listing the picks? I look for them each day or two to see how PinPoint is doing. From the looks of it, it seems to be solid again this year. If the webpage is somewhere, please let me know.

I'd have to write a new section of code to account for all 3 formulas (or I could upload all 3 pages separately). It's something I'll probably get around to doing after finals. If I do get it going, I'll make sure to post the link and put it in my sig. PinPoint has definitely started strong out of the gate. It's busting up games at a pace that it won't be able to maintain though. Last season (which only ran about 2 months) settled in at an 11% ROI. All 3 formulas are running between 17-26% at the moment.Right now I'm working on creating a new spreadsheet that will be able to breakdown all the statistics involved. I'm particularly interested in how effective the Weak/Good/Strong ratings are. I'm also intrigued by games that overlap between the 3 formulas and if they win more often.

Justin,If you dont think that whether you bet $10 a game or whether you bet $100 a game makes a difference then you arent half as smart as you think you are. I know you think you are this disciplined robot that has removed all of the emotion from betting. But if you were betting more per game, the emotion would seep back into the process. You cant bet in a vacuum. Yes we use unit size to try and normalize some of the picks in here but bet size makes a HUGE difference in how you gamble.On a serious note, it's probably good we don't go through with this. God forbid I actually try to show people some gambling things in this thread. Gof forbid a 20 year old teach them. You are not a "Pro". Not even close. It appears that you have had a nice run. You can "teach" people the strategies that work for you or that you have learned when you have been successfully doing this for more than a decade like Gambino and some others. Until then you are just coming off as an arrogant kid who thinks he knows it all.
I know you think you are a sponge and reading and talking to so many people and absorbing all of this knowledge and it puts you at a higher level than everyone else in this thread. Maybe it does.

Post 992 (Snapback) --> Basically, I got into gambling last season and wrote a computer program that analyzes stats and builds a line. That line gets compared to the line offered at Pinnacle and I bet the games with a sizable edge. Last season, the program only ran for about 2 months, July & August. I brought the same formula back to run through this season (May 1 - August 31), but figured I would try to improve the program by developing two new formulae and running them all side by side. A consensus pick is a game that all 3 formulae agree is a play. Anything listed as F1, F2, F3 is designated as a pick by that formula only.I'm sorry for the stupid question, but I see your posts and don't know what any of it is. Can you send the link to definitions or post #. What is the difference of consensus, F1, F2, F3, etc...No offense, but I hope you lose that SD bet...
As a disclaimer, I'm not an expert. I haven't read books on gambling, spent hours pouring through theory, or anything like that. This is just something a former CS major & gambling amateur did for fun. So far it's turning out very well. I was putting money on some PinPoint games last season and did fairly well. I haven't started yet this season, but I probably will in the coming weeks.

Badass, no offense dude. But how anyone lays a home run-line (with the Cubs, no less) is beyond me. Sorry about the loss, those are brutal ones to take.
yeah I know. Cub homer and just knew Maddox was gonna be lights out, which he was. I only take the run line when I think its gonna be a shalacking or a shutout. In Baseball I am a bargain shopper. I only like taking the positive juice bets....puts me ahead always. Glad the rest of ya'll won.

Sorry, looks like Colorado already blew it for ya. I dunno if parlays would be the best way to use PinPoint. It has a tendency to pick games that a lot of the sharps here like (eg Arizona yesterday), but I've also seen it pick some headscratchers. I would guess that making straight bets is the best way to take advantage of PinPoint's analysis, especially since it selects so many dogs. Who knows, though... maybe a big day is just around the corner!
