Note for anyone who might have my dog and streak system pages bookmarked,

DO NOT RELY ON THEM AT THIS TIME.

The dog system page uses the Sagarin pitcher ratings, and obviously they haven't been generated for this season yet.  The page currently links to the 2005 ratings, and so provides results that look plausible.  If you think that pitchers in today's games can be judged by their results at the end of last season, then by all means use the page. lol

As for the streak system, well I don't think y'all liked it much anyhow, but the 2005 results need to be added to it to prepare it for 2006.

I'll post when the pages are ready for use.
:link:
If'n you haven't found it by now, link.
Have you ever tracked this system to determine if it's actually successful? (Yes, I read the article you link to on your page, but I want to know if a real person has ever had good results with this system.)What other "systems" are people using? I'm intrigued about this whole sports betting thing. There's got to be a way to beat this consistently.

picked up 6 units yesterday !!

4 on CWS - posted; 4 on the FLA/ATL O, but lost 2 on SD

Today plays - too many of them so only one unit each:

balt/bos O5 thru 5 and over 9.5 for game

NYM +100 ( great value on Glavine IMHO)

LAD -125 ( Lowe should have a number of wins already)

TX +125 ( the NYY are a mess right now)

Seat -115 ( King Feliz - nough said)

also a stupid super parlay of:

Bos O5 thru 5; Cin/Pitt O9; NYM +100; LAD-125;SD -155; MIN/DET O9;

Tex +125; Sea -115

10 ( .2 units) to win 1652

I think Roarin Soarin made some money with the dog system last year - It was great for me in April and I then gave it all back in May and then some with bad money management; I know that pinpoint was also good for some scrilla last year as well. The thing with these systems is that there is no guarantee - that is why it is called "gambling". I think ultimately some of these may be decent moneymakers but they are all susceptible to being streaky - just my .02.

How do you betting types define a "unit"? This lingo is all new to me.

I tracked the dogs for the first couple of weeks, and it put up an...umm...impressive 19-22 -143 showing through April 15th. I didn't have any money in play, so I didn't have a whole lot of interest to begin with, but then my dad's illness took a turn for the worse (and died six days later) and the dog system really didn't matter in the grand scheme of things.

I suppose one of these days I'll have to program it to keep track of itself. lol

A unit is whatever you want to make it. Some here bet $5/game, others bet $500/game. The unit designation gives a picture of how one is doing relative to how much they bet.If gambler A ($5) and gambler B ($500) both tell you they've won $100 so far during the season, what does that mean? It likely means that gambler A is twenty wins on the plus side (e.g. 20-0, 25-5, etc = +20units), while gambler B is pretty much breaking even with his picks (e.g. 13-12 = +0.2units). If you were tailing their picks, you'd have a better time with gambler A. Both have won $100, but if you put your $100/game unit on gambler A's picks, you'd have $2000 in winnings in your pocket.Or something like that....

I like Guru's plays a bit, but I don't trust Houston with the back end of their rotation in chaos.

I like the Mariners quite a bit tonight and I'm making them my biggest play. I think Felix Hernandez is rounding into form after reporting to the team 25 pounds over weight. He looks like he's turned a corner after giving up 4 early runs to the Whige Sox 2 starts back. He shut down the Rays and as a team, the Mariners are looking for their 3rd win in a row. The switch to Putz as the team's closer has been a good one and this team gets a reeling Oakland franchise tonight.

,May 16 2006, 04:06 PM]Heads up...

5 for 5 on Red Sox wagers for the year thus far... had the over 9.5 last night (didn't post thought).

Tonight... HALF GAME (5 innings)

OVER 5.5 +106

The Sox normall struggle with lefties but Chen is a bum... .he's also got a 8.00+ ERA this year and has missed his previous 2 starts because of off days / rainouts. HE should be rusty. The southpaw has pitched once in relief, allowing two hits and a run in an inning against Boston. In his last start, Chen pitched four innings, allowing 11 hits and seven earned runs. He's pitched five innings or less in three of his last four starts.

He faces schilling who has given up 1-2 runs in the first 5 innings of pretty much every start thus far and has gone 1-2 with a 6.20 ERA in his last four starts.

Boston has won 12 straight against the O's dating back to Sept 05 but there is NO value to be had in sides tongiht
6 for 6 baby :banned: :moneybag:

My heart goes out to the Texas backers tonight. That is a tough loss.
Texas backer & fan here. I didn't even watch or keep track of the game... but now that I see the MLB headline I feel like killing babies. :hot:

Okay, I hate tonights card, but I need to make some money, so here is what I'm on:

Houston(-153)/Cincy(-144)/SD(-149)

Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know heavy chalk across the board, but I think all three will win, so let's parlay them for 3 units and see how it goes. Houston has to get it going soon. Cincy has their "ace" going against a poor Pittsburgh team, I like that matchup a lot. And SD has Peavy going, and Peavy has just started throwing well.

Later on tonight I like LAA-Santana (-107) against Toronto, but we'll have to see how the early games go before I make a play on that one. Santana is a much better pitcher at home, and I think the Angels are better offensively than Toronto, and I think the value is exceptional here.

g'luck
Chalk parlay here was bloody awful. 0-3. Fortunately, I was able to recoup most of my losses on LAA. Still down for the day a little over a unit.

Last night was an abortion. Not only did i have the Rangers, but I had them coupled with Florida for a nice ML parlay. ALl game, I was looking good. Then, late, my heart was ripped out of my chest.

Then the Mariners...my biggest bet in a long long time...complete S.HIT the bed. :hot: :hot: :hot:

I'm awful right now. Absolutely awful.

I put the rest of my account on the Dodgers today, so I got that going for me, which is nice. Nothing appeals to me tonight.

WTF is wrong with Houston. That series was just gross...and to the Giants no less. The sad thing is 400000000 to 2 doesn't even seem like an exaggeration.

Cruising along in May with a good unit count and high percentage.

CHW (-159) 1.59 units

with Vasquez, I like it. Good time to pick up a win and get a string going as CHC come to town.

I don't know about the cubbies today considering Maddux hasn't pitched well in May at all... and its 5-1 right now.

Tonight:

SD -101 1.1 units

May: +7.2 units

I haven't played in about a week, and my account is at an all-time high after hitting a Cavalier prop bet the other night +1950

Anyway, I have a small play on the Yanks/Mets over 8 (+120). I think both lineups are pretty explosive, and don't think either bullpen is necessarily nails. Sure Pedro/Mussina is a tight pitching matchup, but I think if we can get a few early runs, and a close game, each team should be able to put up at least 4 runs.

I like a few games tonight, but have to run some errands, so we'll see if I'm back in time to get some late action. If I do, I'll post. For now, I'm leaning Atlanta (huge value there) and LA Dodgers.

I like Pedro over the Yankees today, the Yanks are so banged up. Mets -130

Also on dodgers-angels over 8-1/2 +100

I also think the Rangers (Millwood) prevail over the Astros (Pettite), Rangers +103

Never had a doubt on this one  Tonight I'm on Texas (Millwood +110) for 3 units. Houston has not been very good offensively the past week or so, and Millwod has been pitching adequately. I like the Texas bats here to hit Petitte. If it's close and has to go to the bullpens, it could get very interesting.

g'luck
