Cardinals ML - got Marquis (not that he gives me great confidence) and the Cardinals ML with a nice 1.71 odds.

Cubs bullpen has to be worn out, the Cards coming off a loss, and the Cubs have won 3 of 4 - something's gotta give here today, and I think it's the Cubs falling flat on their face.

Good bet here :bye:

Guys, let's make me some money tonight!

Nothing has jumped out at me yet. I think the Tigers are getting great value tonight, even against Liriano....may wait until game time to see if I can get more.

Anyone else have some strong opinions? FWIW, I'm probably passing on St Louis (too heavy a line and not a strong enough SP) and I don't like the White Sox tonight (but I'm playing them anyway).

Oringinally I was thinking that Liriano and the Twins were a good bet but after seing that in 2 relif apperances against the Tigers earlier in the season he gave up 7 runs in 3 2/3 inngs pitched I started to lean toward Miner, who is 4-0 pitching on the road, and the Tigers.

It's just a matter of what Cubs number I can get before gametime. Cubs look to be the right side again today to me. Marmol's control is an issue, but besides that Marquis and Marmol are about the same to me.

Nice 3 cent scalp I picked up in the game. +140 on the Cubbies and -137 on the Cardinals. I have a position on the Cubs though.
Missed another 3 cent scalp on the total as well. I am still trying to get used to how much to wager on each side and by the time I got my bet in the line moved. Still a 1 cent scalp, took a position on the Over. I'm rooting for the Cubs and the Over, two anticorrelated wagers.

Earlier today, the White Sox were getting 2-1 odds on the ML...They are facing Bedard, but sooner or later, the Sox are going to snap out of this funk, and getting such value with them just isn't going to be there.

Snuck in another 3 cent scalp at Mansion/Matchbook. Cubs +140 and Cards -137. Mansion was holding Cubs +142, but I missed it. Free money to be made here. I took a larger position on the Cubs here.

Just telling everyone there's free money to be made here tracking lines just before the game starts.
 I know I shouldn't get involved, but I just can't help myself. What kind of profit are we looking at here? 1 cent per dollar?

For some reason Mansion didn't accept my second Cubs +142 bet. I thought I placed it in time, but I guess not. I'll chalk that up to inexperience. I'm rooting for the Over and the Cards to win by a run. I wanted to take a big position on the Cubs, but missing the bet at Mansion didn't help my cause. This turned into a big scalp game, no true side except for the Over. Cards win by 1 and the Over is what I'm rooting for, but I messed up here. I wanted the Cubs.Edited to correct: Cards win by 1 would be the best result.

 I was just wondering how much time you spend waiting for the last lines and how much money you need to have in your book to make decent money...ETA: with Pinnys limit being 30K per game and others probably close to that it's a #### load of money to have in your account, for a $300 profit, and on 2 or more sites too. Not to mention if you don't get the wager in... :loco:

I only "wait" for lines when I'm home and not busy. I wish I could do it everyday, but I can't. Maybe someday. I need more money in my books to make decent money, I already know that. I ran out of money at Matchbook today and couldn't put in another scalp. But, I've said it before, I'll say it again, I'm trying to learn how to do this. I messed up today, but thankfully I'm not making big bets yet, so it's not that big of a deal. I'm trying to bet how the big guys bet. It's not fun, it's a lot of tracking lines, and lots of quick math. I need to get better at this. Why put tons of money on the line now doing this? I'm going to make mistakes.

There's scalps out there all day, everyday. You just need to know where to look, IMO. I don't purely try to scalp free money, I usually take a position on a side. If you could scalp out $100 a day during baseball season (which is possible), add that to your bottom line at the end of the year and it makes a difference.

Edited to add: Plus it helps clear bonuses very easily. I just signed up at WWTS yesterday and I'm on the Cubs +140 at their book, while I have -137 at Matchbook. I'm freerolling while clearing this bonus much quicker.

You know he bets like 10 bucks, right? He's SCALPING for pennies. It's awesome! :lmao:

OK...

Let's say I want to make "serious" money scalping.

I need 10 books at least, with 2 max bets a pop, which is 600K

If I am lucky I get a 5 cent scalp, which for our purposes here wins 50% of the time (should be less, since if the favorite wins, you will only make your money back and break even), let's say at 2.5 cents per dollar on average.

If you max out your bet you place wagers at 30K + 30K and half of the time you will win 750 bucks for an average of $375 per scalp.

In order to double my 600K I need to find 1600 scalps. This would be 3 years and 200K a year which is VERY good, if you can find 500 scalps per year.

I actually believe it'll hit along the lines of 33% and an average of 3 cents per dollar, which would require me to find 6000 scalps... Let's say you find 500 scalps a year and that's 12 years, or $50,000/year...

This is nothing to sneeze at of course, especially since it's "free" money, but that's one hell of a big purse to have tied up in sportsbooks. Not to mention, that if you do 1 (one) misstake you are in the hole for 30-60K which would take a year to recover from.

ETA: spelling and crap...

I am on a big losing streak. I was up to $299 a couple of weeks ago (+ $150) now I am down to $32 :bag:

My last gasp is $32 on Baltimore -111 today. Wish me luck!

:goodposting: I don't want to me serious money scalping, but I do believe there's a place for scalping when it comes to gambling. It will add a few extra bucks to your bottom line year in and year out, which adds up.

And like I said, rarely do i just strictly scalp, I'd rather take a position on a side with two good numbers.

Anything for a chuckle SLBD. Too bad you wussed out of the HFFL last year. But since I retired you MIGHT have a chance at the playoffs? Naw, Gambino and that John whatsisname are better.
