Bat Boy dies after being hit by a swing... (1 Viewer)

Just an awful story all around. That ball player now has to live with that, and it was a total accident to boot. My prayers are for everyone involved.

The article said he was actually wearing a helmet...That was surprising. Had to be just a really bad set of circumstances.

The only thing I can guess is that the batter swung as hard as he could, or he wound up hitting the boy in the head where he wasn't as protected by the helmet. A lot of things just went wrong, as you said.

ugh.

but thought this was about the SF make-a-wish bat kid... relieved it's not him, but saddened by the story nonetheless.

eta: and yeah, Nick- the team name is something. hopefully intentional.

Its probably just me, but this struck me as an odd comment to make....unless you personally know the SF kid of course.

why do you think that? kid had a profound affect on a lot of people... there's a documentary about him. I found the story pretty amazing. is his death any more or less important than this poor bat-boy's? no.

I forgot about that kid. Completely different meaning of "bat boy," but yeah, I didn't' even think about that connection.

No, that's kind of my point. Your reply kind of implied that the SF boys was more important. Like I said, it's probably just me. I'll move along.

i thought this was actually about a bat boy, like a boy bat, but not The SF bat boy nor a baseball game bat boy.
