Battle of the WR3's (1 Viewer)

This is a cluster which one or maybe 2 of these guys will really step it up and perform very nicely next year. So how do you rank this group with dynasty in mind. I personally feel this is a VERY hard tier/group of guys to get a true feel of which one of these guys will really step it up to wr2 #'s.

Very hard group for me to rank especially with dynasty in mind but here goes.

1. D.Avery (young and should be the lead wr on the rams now with Holt gone...showed he could be a a real threat last year.)

2. T.Ginn (young and improving every year, this year could be the year where he finally jumps into the bottom half of the wr2's)

3. D.Driver (even with him being older, i still think he puts up very decent numbers, would have been one on my list but AR seems to distribute the ball around to alot of wr's)

4. S.Rice (tuff call here but i really do think Sage makes a big difference in there air attack....if he can stay healthy Sage will get him the ball.)

5. D.Mason (flacco presence opens up the ravens air attack....Mason while older should be a very very nice wr3 this year, age dropped him a bit here but i like him this year)

6. L.Coles (not a sexy pick anymore but i think he will continue to rack up the rec's. If Palmer can return to his old form Coles could be large)

7. C.Chambers (i expect the Chargers offense to continue to improve, and Chambers had a down year last year, i would think he could improve upon that)

8. L.Moore (still a FA, if not he would be 4 spots higher if he went back to NO, but i like him here with his given situation)

9. J.Morgan (the under the radar wr, he showed glimpses last year, he doesnt have much in his way of starting (J.Hill/B.Jones/I.Bruce)

10. J.Gage (i think Kerry started to lock on this guy to end the year, he seemed to have a nack of making some big plays last year)

11. D.Hixon (was really high on him last year before he showed a terrible case of dropping easy passes, he needs to work on his concentration and i think he will be fine)

12. S.Breaston (eh, maybe its me, but i think the guys above offer more potential scoring cause of there td potential, Breaston is nice though)

13. K.Walters (seemed like a TD machine last year, he doesnt offer a high ceiling but he will get some steady numbers in the Houston offense)

14. P.Burress (eh, im scared of this fella here....im not sure if he will be available for this season.)

1. D.Avery

2. L.Moore

3. T.Ginn

4. S.Breaston

5. S.Rice

6. L.Coles

7. J.Morgan

8. D.Driver

9. K.Walters

10. C.Chambers

11. P.Buress

12. D.Hixon

13. D.Mason

14. J.Gage

Here's how I'd tier them for dynasty. See Burress note below.

D.Avery

L.Moore

S.Breaston

L.Coles

P.Buress

T.Ginn

J.Morgan

D.Driver

S.Rice

C.Chambers

D.Mason

K.Walter

D.Hixon

J.Gage

Buress is a special case. His ranking is dependent on an issue outside of football, so each person has to decide for himself whether he believes Plax will serve the mandatory 3 years in jail or whether his celebrity status and short remaining career gets him a wrist slap. We all know the average young black male in the same circumstance would unquestionably do time, but I'm not naive enough to just assume the same will be the case with Plax. I don't know what will happen and I don't pretend to know.

If you believe he does no jail time and just a few games' suspension, he probably belongs near the top of the list. If you believe he misses the 2009 season or more (he'll be 33 when the 2010 season begins), he belongs at the bottom or off it completely. My ranking above is trying to allow for the risk for your purposes, but if I'm drafting, I probably ignore him completely and let someone else pick him, knowing there's going to be someone who discounts the risk too much.

1. D.Avery

2. Ginn Jr. (last chance to get him cheap before he explodes)

3. L. Moore

4. S.Breaston

5. S.Rice (Rosenfels will help)

6. Hixon (the guy has HUGE OPPORTUNITY, good QB, and a few late season drops are overshadowing his talent)

7. J.Morgan (will get a chance this year and looked good at times last season)

8. D.Driver (this will be his last year of high production)

9. K.Walters

10. C.Chambers

11. P.Buress (is getting old and will do time)

12. Coles (new team and old)

13. D.Mason

14. J.Gage

1. L.Moore - One of the more underrated, young WRs in football. If he had a bigger mouth, he'd be Joe Horn. Finished top 15 for me last year, PPR.

2. D.Driver - Didn't know he had dropped to a WR 3 yet.

3. C.Chambers - Another year in the system, another year improvement from Rivers.

4. S.Breaston - Automatic #2 if Boldin is traded, but still a safe bet for 800 yards from the slot if Boldin stays.

5. K.Walters - More underrated than L.Moore, if that's possible.

6. L.Coles - Not sold on Palmer being sharp after a 1 year layoff. 1st year in a new system.

7. D.Mason - On the decline, but he's a little warrior.

8. T.Ginn - Baby steps. Baby steps. Getting better, but worth a #9 overall pick???

9. D.Avery - Rams have improved the line some, but Burton/Avery will scare nobody. Jackson is the kingpin.

10. S.Rice - It's time for him to show marked improvement now that Rosenfels adds some respectability to the passing game, and the running game garnering all the attention. Still too run heavy and good on D for me to get excited about MIN WRs.

11. J.Morgan - Early reports have Morgan & B.Jones penciled as starters, but J.Hill could still unseat either one. Not a safe bet yet.

12. D.Hixon - S.Smith is the future top-notch WR in NY. IF Plax comes back, Hixon will not see a lot of snaps.

13. P.Buress - Dumb ###. But a talented dumb ###. I wouldn't want to burn a roster spot on him, but he's not a #3 and doesn't belong on this list.

14. J.Gage - He's done WHAT with every oportunity? If Tennessee does in fact open up the offense, everybody will see just how average Collins is.

RFA. He's still a Saint.

1. S.Rice - Due for his break out season.

2. J.Morgan - Jumped on his bandwagon based on a few glimpses last season

3. T.Ginn - best of what the fins have and should be productive

4. D.Avery - 1st Bruce and now Holt - who else is going to benefit from the air show?

5. S.Breaston - Higher if Bolden is traded

6. L.Coles - Higher if Chad implodes again (and Palmer is 100%)

7. P.Buress - Higher if he is on the field for the Giants

8. C.Chambers - Beginning of players who should be productive but past their prime

9. D.Mason - See Chambers

10. D.Driver - See Mason seeing Chambers

11. D.Hixon - IF Burress is gone

12. K.Walters - quiet production opposite AJ

13. J.Gage - Someone has to produce in Tenn... don't they?

14. L.Moore - have not become a fan yet

I would have less issue with this list if you flipped it upside down. :kicksrock:

I just don't know how people can rank Ted Ginn in the top 3. He's a burner with mediocre route running skills and average moves. He has yet to score more than 2 TDs in a year and last year he was (arguably) Miami's #1. I don't know, I think I might rather have Bess...
