Gus Frerotte, who was 9-6 as a Dolphins starter in 2005, is expected to draw interest if allowed to test the free-agent market. The Chicago Tribune reported today that the Bears are considering Frerotte as a potential backup to starter Rex Grossman.

He'll work as Rex's backup if he comes relatively cheap. I'd prefer him over Orton for 2006. Considering Hutchinson was the backup plan last year, I'm not going to get greedy however.

Thanks Ryan, was interested in acquiring grossman in a league but i'll hold off now......

They definetly need a veteran. And Ferotte is a gunslinger, He can put up huge numbers. He did so in Denver a few games and in Minny. In Mia he had some decent games, but the talent and situation was not as great. He can still throw and is dangerous.

Hes better than anyone they have (seriously). I think he would be a good fit in Chicago.
