I know I am one of a few who still has stuck with ESPN (not my choice), but it is not showing the Bears TD as points for my defense. I am tied right now, but I should be credited some points. Has anyone else in an ESPN league encountered this problem?
RT Sports counted it as a special teams td, and not defensive if your league doesn't combine the two. This was their explanation:
ALERT: Notice from RealTime Fantasy Sports The Chicago Bears 108-yard missed field goal TD return has been interpreted as an offensive special teams touchdown. This intepretation stems from the fact that during a field goal the kicking team is on offense until the ball passes the line of scrimmage. At that point the kicking team becomes the defensive unit (and hence cannot recover or advance the kick unless the opposing team touches it first.) If your league does not agree with this decision the commissioner may always manually adjust any teams score at any time. In essence, this is the same as a kickoff return TD, with the points awarded based on your rules for a kick return TD and subsequent length.
It was none of the above. It was a field goal attempt that wasn't blocked and got returned. I feel your pain. They didn't credit it in NBCsports eliminator either.
sportsline, god love 'em, got it right, credited with d/st touchdown as all leagues should. a team shouldnt get shafted when a great, rare play like that happens.
