Maybe it's the way all the ingredients mix around and act together, but the hard stuff, drink per matched drink, leaves me a little more volatile and angered, while beer leaves me a little bit stoney and slap happy and just sort of buzzier. .
What say you? Am I contravening science in the worst way, or is it possible that folk wisdom indicates that our bodies process spirits differently? I think the beer=liquor thing came from AA trying to medicalize alcoholism during the progressive era, an era when it seemed science had the answer to everything. (Turns out phrenology might have been wrong.)
