Ben Roethlisberger (1 Viewer)

There are a bunch of threads discussing this already. And not that it matters much but technically Nate Washington isn't a rookie.

all the guys on ESPN seem to think he'll have a big game. But who is he going to throw to?? And aren't they calling for snow tonight?

Wow, no respect. The guy was on pace for a hall of fame career and then hit a really bad stretch of luck. Rue the day that you compare Roeth to a bunch of bums. The guys a great bet in Dynasty to consistently be a #1 QB.

:goodposting: Yea, he's had some rough patches this year, but he's still one of the best young throwers in the game. I can't believe that Philip Rivers and Matt Leinart are going to be ranked ahead of him in the dynasty QB poll. People are missing the boat (as they have been for his entire career).

:goodposting: I have Roethlisberger at #6, just ahead of Rivers, Leinart & Young.

Right now, Ben Roethlisberger is the most overlooked player in dynasty leagues.

Lots to disagree with here.First off, LOL at "on pace for a hall of fame career" after 27 regular season games. :rolleyes:I also don't agree that his results this season are merely "a stretch of bad luck" or that he is a great bet to consistently be a #1 QB, although that has something to do with league size. Top 14, maybe. Top 12 or fewer... far from a great bet IMO.All that said, to compare him to Dilfer is silly. He's better than that, both NFL wise and fantasy wise. I expect Cowher to retire, and a lot of his fantasy potential will be somewhat dependent on how that affects him. He also has yet to play an injury free season, which hurts his fantasy potential. And, finally, to suggest that you "can't believe" Rivers will be ranked ahead of Roethlisberger for dynasty purposes implies to me that you are not looking at them objectively. At this point, Rivers in his first year as a starter is ranked ahead of Roethlisberger in his third year, despite the fact that this is Roethlisberger's best year so far. What is surprising about Rivers being ranked higher? I've been saying Rivers is better since before they were drafted, and it's still true.

I agree that he is being overlooked. It's almost like people are grasping for every possible excuse to be pessimistic about his FF prospects. Last year they said Pittsburgh would never throw enough. This year they're saying he throws too many INTs. His performance has been a bit shaky at times this season and it's true that he needs to cut down on the turnovers, but we're starting to see him deliver on his FF potential. If they continue to let him throw this much then I suspect we'll see improved numbers over the next 2-3 years, to the point where he'll be right in the mix with guys like Palmer and Brady for fringe top 5 status.

he is just a glorified trent difer
I've read a lot of ignorant statements on these boards over the years, but this one is the blue ribbon winner. But you've already got your mind made up...comparisons are easy, aren't they? Simplistic even.
I am talking nfl wise not fantasy wise
And...?Where's the comparison? The simplistic one that you're looking at is they both won a Super Bowl with a strong defense. You can barely tell them apart, right?
