I knew there was some crossover with VY & Bo @ TX but didn't know they played together 2 full years. Could make Scaife the sneaky TE pickup heading down the stretch.....
I think it could - I recommended picking him up in dynasty leagues last week.
Would you pick him upand drop either Owen Daniels, Dallas Clark Or Tony Scheffler?
Id take him over Daniels.
Can I ask why you think his upside is better than Daniels? I know Daniels plays for the Texans but he has caught a TD pass in the last 2 games. I watched him at WI and always impressed by him. I don't know much about Scaife.
I think Scaife is just a better receiver - Daniels is athletic and an interesting H-back type, but Scaife is pure downfield receiver - only his size puts him at TE - he makes plays most TEs couldn't.
thanks Sigmund I don't question your opinions often. So do you still feel that Scheffler has what it takes in Denver to be a big play guy? He gets targets but seems to be dropping the ball a lot. I know he is a rookie so I cut some slack on that. I know Clark is fairly talented. It seems strange to carry 3 TE in a dynasty - I will have to cut one next off season - we go from a 40 man to a 30 man roster. Which 2 TE's would you want for next season? Sorry for the slight hijack. If Scaife can help me more than Daniels this season, I'd drop Daniels. That way I can play the matchups between Clark and either Scaife or Daniels as I let Scheffler age on the bench.
Scheffler and Clark have more upside than Scaife, unless Scaife does something he couldn't do at Texas, stay healthy for a long stretch of time.
As usual, Sig is all up on this. As a Troupe fan, Big XII guy and new Nashville local, I'm following this pretty closely. Scaife is simply outperforming Troupe right now. Part of that is attributable to the coverage, Troupe is keyed on more, but Scaife has performed while Troupe simply has not. IMO, Troupe will get things turned around, but with Scaife taking targets, I'm dropping Troupe in my rankings, just out of the top 10, but still a good #2 / bye week filler. Tennessee has shown for the past few years now, that they love using 2 (or more) TEs, and frankly, their top 2 receivers are their TEs. I'm not entirely sure what happens when Kinney is ready to play, but if you can get a TE like Clark or Scheffler instead of Troupe or Scaife, I'd probably do it.
