Benching 85 for ______ (1 Viewer)

Johnson has put up great numbers this year, but he is really dinged up. In his last 3 weeks he has just 12 catches for 172 yards and No TDs. Granted you have to have depth to even think about this, but I am benchin him for Brandon Marshall. Now that I benched him for the first time this year, he will probably explode for a 3 TD game.

Who are you guys benching this future HOFer for??

I actually think Chris Henry is a better play than CJ right now, which would make him the 3rd best WR on his own team fantasy wise. He is injured everywhere, and has to take Toradol shots before the games. It would be tough for me to play Ward over him though.

I have R Grant, E James and 85 going for 2 spots. Maybe this thread will help me settle on someone because I keep going back and forth on all 3.

Benching Ocho Cinco for Warrick Dunn as a flex......hoping not to want to kick myself afterwords. Heavily relying on the cheetsheets for this decision.....

I am NOT benching Chad this week. In my PPR league, I am starting him over:

Kevin Curtis v. the Dolphins

Cotchery v. the Steelers

Curry v. the Vikings

And 85 is back in. Looks like Norwood is active, not sure if it will impact Dunn, but as a poster above said, I will give up a potential 60 and a TD for 200 and 3 scores......

Wrong.

More players do this than you think.
Just because many players do this doesn't mean it doesn't change the way they play. Additionally, he runs a greater risk of aggravating existing injuries. I guess we will see about Henry after today's game. Last week he outperformed 85.

wound up throwing him in there for Grant. My wife told me to start him and Edge and she knows nothing which is sometimes the best advice

I wanted to bench him in favor of DJ Hackett, but can't do it. The Bengals will continue to pass, and although production wise he has dropped behind, he will have a monster game sooner or later......I'll weather the storm until he does.

:shock:Henry and Housh barely did better than Johnson. Palmer's peculiar decisions is what is hurting Johnson more than anything else I think.

So wait, who was the better play? I didn't say he was going to blow CJ away. :lmao:

Well if you are going to call someone out for saying that Johson would probably do better than Henry, and Henry finishes barely better than Johson it makes you look like a bit of a tool. That's all I'm saying.

I'm not following your logic. He called me out by saying I was flat wrong. And scoring near double the points of Johnson is not barely beating him.

My bad, I thought you said he was wrong....not the other way around. :loco: . It depends on how TD heavy your leage is as far as points go. Same number of catches, just Henry had a TD, in my league that will make Henry nudge Johnson out by just a few points.

No worries. My league has 1 point per ten yards and 6 pts for TDs. That has Henry with 14 and Johnson with 8. I personally don't subscribe to the "if you take this play out" philosophy.

I hate that philosophy as well. That play did happen, and you have to figure that into the numbers. If you take out every player's big play then yes all of their numbers are not so good.
