Benching Steve Smith ( car ) this week (1 Viewer)

NO wr has done anyhting when being covered all game by Revis - NO one. Guy has held Moss in check twice , AJ , and Colston , etc.. Seems to me the best you could hope for is a 5-40 game and maybe get really lucky and get a cheapy TD -- but Smith isn't a great redzone target and Delhomme well ... sucks!

The combo of Delhomme being awful and Revis on Smith - I would downgrade Smith ( resurrgent or not ) to a medium to low end #3wr this week. Personally I am starting Meachem ahead of him..

I guess Revis is this years Asoumga ( sp? )

Delhomme vs Revis = for Smiff this week.

I'm planning on playing the other Steve Smith and Garcon over him this week but plan on going back to Smiff once Revis week is over.

Delhomme can hardly hit Smitty when he is open let alone with the leagues best cover corner on him.. Like I said a 5-50 day is optimistic for Smith. Meachem at least present a blow up chance. This is the week you use any other option you got over Smith.

was MSW covered exclusively by Revis two weeks ago? I rolled with MSW that week and he had a good outing, but this week I do feel compelled to bench Smith.

Though in my mind i'm doubting myself because of smith being on a roll lately and the whole "never bench your studs" theory.

no, if i remember correctly msw burned a safety for his td. revis was put on msw the whole second half and msw went something like 1/9

Benched Moss against Revis for Djax last week and now I'm benching Steve Smith for Donald Driver this week. It's not even close.

Have to choose betwix Smitty and Austin. While Smitty gets Revis, Austin will get Asomugha. On second thought maybe I'll bench both of them and pick up a scrub from the ww....

I have the same situation, Iam hopng that Asomugha will go over to Roy Williams and not Austin. IF not its TO and Mechum for me. Well its TO and Austin right now thanks to Revis.

wow, I'm amazed so many people are benching Smith. Panthers are finally force feeding the man, and he's producing. No way I bench him, unless AJ, Fitz, Randy are my other options.

Yeah, I don't really have better options. I could go with Nicks I guess. Not benching him for Evans or Edwards.Donnie Avery is on the WW though. Maybe.

Dallas should try to run the football 40+ times against Oakland. I'd be surprised if Austin or Williams had real big games.I think Smith has the talent to beat Revis a few times, but I don't think Delhomme can get him the ball effectively (obviously) against that kind of coverage. Unless Smith breaks one he's looking at 4-5 catches for 50-60 yards. Sadly, that'll probably be with 12+ targets.

you guys better hope Mr.Smith doesn't read this thread
Or the OC Davidson. That clown will call 50 pass plays and 30 of them directed at Revis. I almost want to start my Jets D but I keep thinking that the Carolina coaching staff will eventually wake up and run the ball 50 times and pass 20.

Right Now I am starting Meecham over S. Smith -- Smith is a 4-50 canidate and thats on a decent day -- Meachem has a solid shot at getting a few long TD's and a decent chance at a 4-100 - 1 day.

I might bench him for a couple of other guys but I agree with your premise. As long as the run game and Muhammad are keeping defenses honest and Delhomme keeps chucking it to Smith I'll take Smith to win more than his share of jump balls against anybody... including Revis.

I'm benching Smith for Avery.
I would figure Avery's value would be nill with MB out

My thinking is that Boller = Delhomme and Revis >>>>>>>>>>>> Trufant, but I see your point. I'll be looking into some other alternatives as well. If Brady/Moss could only hook-up for 40 yards against Revis, how many yards are Delhomme/Smith going to muster?
