Benching Tom Brady (1 Viewer)

I'm nervous about the weather but Brady has been fire lately and if any QB can own in the snow its him. My alternative is Josh Freeman but I'm sticking with Brady. We also get 1 point per completion in this league so I'm hoping for a lot of dinks and dunks.

I'm doing it, but only because I have Flacco with a dream matchup vs Houston. I'm actually not that worried about Brady; I just think Flacco is the safer play.Matty Ice on the road? Not as safe. Not saying you shouldn't do it, but you're just replacing one risk with another.
 
Eh at first glance I'd be worried because of the weather. But I do seem to recall him recently throwing like 6 TDs in heavy snow against Tennessee. If I didn't have a strong and better

matchup, I'd stick with Brady. Otherwise, I'd consider it at least. The wind will be a major factor it seems today...

There was no wind in that game, much less 40-55mph.Any other week, this thread would be comical. But I don't see how you CAN start him if you have another decent option.
 
Chicago weatherman on ESPN right now.

"They will be playing in a BLIZZARD... some of the worst weather you've ever seen for a NFL game."

The live footage of Soldier Field on NFLN looked pretty terrible. Every source of weather forecasting I can find is predicting 20-30mph with stronger gusts on top of that during the game, along with snowfall throughout. 20-30mph winds are bad enough without gusts up to 55mph. Add in the fact that field conditions will be even more dicier than the normal terrible Soldier Field conditions, and that the Bears have a top 5ish defense, and... I just can't start him.

I'm rolling with Kitna at home against the Eagles without Asante Samuel instead.

Thought benching Brady was laughable.... up until I seen the live conditions in Chicago. 50mph wind gusts, it's going to be hard to throw a screen pass, let alone a 7 yard out pattern. This hurts alot, but I'm sitting him for Bradford... and praying for the best. :heart:

Grabbed Freeman off the waiver wire...put him in the lineup. Also using Westbrook for flex instead of Branch.

Thinking about sitting him for Manning. Eli should get a bump on a neutral field and Nicks and Smith possibly coming back.

Going against the 24th ranked passing D is a pretty good option to have, you should come out ahead today. Me? Not so much! :bag: At least I know there's thousands of other playoff teams making the same tough decision. GL.
 
weather seems to have calmed down here. winds might not be as bad as expected, although it could change in an instant.

 
I benched Brady for Fitzpatrick. I hate sitting my stud players, but my gut tells me that the game at soldier field today will set a new level that all future snow/blizzard games will be compared against.

Luckily, I had Garcon and CJ2K rack up a cushion on Thursday night.

 
I've benched Brady for Freeman in one league and for Eli in another. Now deciding if I can bench him for Skelton. I don't think I can do that.

 
Sticking with Brady. Other option is Campbell, and it is now too late.

There was 40mph wind last week against the Jets, he did ok, last year against the Titans wasnt a bad game either.
 
I want to go on record and say I was wwwrrrrrooonnnggggg.

It wouldn't have hurt so bad, if the Bills would have thrown the ball more than a few times in the second half

This isn't really post worthy :bag: Of course a Vick, Manning, Brees, Rivers etc are possible reasons to sit Brady....but NOBODY owns both except for the few that caught Vick off the wire....so, kudos my friend... but the rest in here are as dumb as they come :tinfoilhat:

Orton once again must have checked my lineup before playing today lol. The combo of TO and Bowe made sure i would lose regardless of which QB i started. :shock:

Well at least benching Brady won't be the direct cause of your loss, just a contributor. Me, on the other hand... :bag: The 18 point difference between Brady/Branch vs Bradford/SanMoss will most likely cost me my playoff game. :cry:
