Anyone starting the Bengals defense against Green Bay? Is there a reason ESPN have them as the #2 projected D that I am not seeing?

Not sure about ESPN's rating and surely it depends on scoring system. That said they are basically a stud defense that probably should be rolled out every week*.

* - we don't play Denver this year

I dissagree on you; Aaron Rodgers is the bestest QB in the NFL right now and he going to carve up this defense this week. The Bengals do has some good guys on their defence, but I feel like Aaron Rodgers is having so much confidences in his game right now that it dont matter how many doggon good guys you has on your defences, he gonna find a ways to beat you.

I would feel comfortable starting the Bengals defense this week for the Sack potential alone. Green Bay has a rough O-line that gives up pretty many sacks. Bengals have one of, if not the best D-lines in the league. Pressure creates chaos, chaos leads to turnovers.

I'm running with the Bengals this week. Mainly because I don't want to worry about finding a replacement. I'm not confident they will put up a great fantasy day, but the potential is always there with the amount of talent on their D.

The Bengals lost to Cutler and the Bear's passing game, they were getting matched by Rothlisberger in the first half on Monday night. Rodgers has the potential to eat them alive. I do expect the Packers to be fairly one-dimensional however. With Lacy out, Stark's lack of ability will become apparent, as he will be shut down by the Bengals. Like people have been saying in this thread already, the Bengals D-line vs the Packers O-line is a pretty big miss match and could lead to sacks, fumbles, and interceptions.

Rodgers is good enough to overcome this single-handedly. Does he have one of those days? Thats the real question.

I think you roll the Bengals this week. Opposing score points likely won't be there but I definitely see potential for sacks, turnovers, and maybe a score. The Bengals look like a pretty solid defense in general (although their secondary did seem to give up a lot of plays on Monday) and looking ahead they seem to have a pretty juicy schedule coming up (Browns, Patriots, Bills, Lions, Jets).

For those starting the Bengals, does your D get point for yardage and points allowed? I see the Bengals as a good NFL defense but not a stud fantasy D.

I have the Bengals D but don't feel comfortable starting them against GB. They have not done well in FF so far.

Pick up Buf D, they can be a good replacement week 3, 5 and 7 when Cincy faces good offenses.

I thought that about the Steelers too. I really thought Roethlisberger was served up on a platter but they only got to him twice. And Rodgers weapons>>>>>>>>>>>Big Ben's weapons.

I own them and get points for yardage and points against. I am scared to death to start them. They have been underwhelming this year and I think GB shreds them. I have thought about picking up NO but not sure who to drop to pick them up.

Bengals are a little banged up in the secondary. Jones, Kirkpatrick and Ghee all sat out practice today and they signed Curtis Marsh (ex-Eagles). They put DE-Geathers on IR (he's not a starter but got a good amount of rotational play. They re-signed Jeromy Miles and cut JK Schaffer again.

Just a general update - I'd watch the secondary situation, though frankly Pac-Man wasn't all that great against the Steelers in the first place.

I guess my overall sense is that it's not a defense to drop - they'll be mid-line this week. If yardage matters that hurts them the most as they tend to play bend but don't break.

Have not been impressed with their D at all this yr. They couldn't get to Cutler once and that guy was sacked a ton last yr. They could barely get to Ben last Monday and he was served up on a platter a bunch of times. I think Rodgers dismantles this D on Sunday. I was able to somehow land Miiny's D and I'm thinking about parking the Bengals on the bench. The Bengals have a brutal return game as well. Pacman fielding punts! That guy's not breaking any long TD's. So far they have under achieved against two Qb's they should have had field days against.
