Local sportstalk radio host mentioned the following this afternoon as information coming from a "Bengal insider".
Final Bengal draft board ranks S Donte Whitner, S Jason Allen, CB Jonathan Joseph, CB Ashton Youboty, CB Antonio Cromartie, DE Manny Lawson, and DE Mathias Kiwanuka highly.
Bengals may wait until the 3rd round or later to fill the TE need. Players they like could include Tony Scheffler (West Mich), Matt Henshaw (Fla St), and Ryan Hamby (OSU). They're also apparently pretty high on Anthony Fasano.
And the Bengals (OL coach Paul Alexander in particular) apparently love OT Andrew Whitworth (LSU) and hope he'll be available in the 3rd.
All speculation of course. This particular talk show usually has good information, but Bengal rumors aren't on target often. Food for thought though.
In his news conference, Marvin said, and I quote, "We'll look to address needs at QB, RB, WR, TE, DE, DT, LB, CB, and S." I guess the Bengal PK, P, and LS are safe.
Marvin did mention that the draft will dictate whether the team moves toward a 3-4 defensive front.
