Bengals win the Superbowl! (1 Viewer)

The Bengals may win a playoff game this year but I will be shocked if they make it past the 2nd round with that defense.

Super Bowl XXXIV Rams were scoffed at too. ;)

Not really digging into the pick of the Bengals so much as the quality of the "journalism". It read more like the guy simply turned on his 1970s style Electric Football game and watched the pieces run about randomly then wrote out his imaginary results. You know - "Rudy will run for 100 yards and Palmer throw for 300" type stuff is just goofy groundless speculation and not actual analysis. And yeah, worse teams than the LA Rams have and will make the Superbowl. The Bengals could certainly be one of them, but with that defense and Chad Johnson's mouth giving everone and his grandmother motivation to kick their teeth in, I doublt it.

Bengals = Colts of recent years ------- NO F-ING DEFENSE = NO SUPER BOWL.Edited to say that I remember Lamar Smith and Eddie George running for 200 on the Colts in the playoffs. Remember this while watching the Bengals this year.

I am a big Bengals fan but I think you are right. It's not to be expected that a team with a defense that poor would be a serious Super Bowl challenger. The only thing that bodes well for them is this: Bryan Robinson. He is their #1 run stopper. He was MIA the last 6 games. I read he is probable for this week. Cinn had already started improving their run D, except for the KC game. Even with LJ running rampant in a meaningless game they still finished 20th against the run. I mention that because that improvement happened while Robinson was on the bench healing.

So if they are improved at stopping the run and they are getting better with Robinson returning then maybe they make a move. But with all that I still feel like they are a year away from contending for the Super Bowl. This year? Maybe with some good fortune and a lot of turnovers.
