Bernard Berrian gets speeding ticket (1 Viewer)

Is there any person on this board who has NOT drove 100+ mph at some point in their lives?
i was passing a car doing 105 once when I saw the cop lights come on. I immediately pulled over and the cop was pissed. told me that he clocked me doing 83. i gladly accepted the ticket for the lower speed while trying not to crack up laughing.

It does --- the fact that some people actually care about athletes getting speeding tickets.

Agreed. Forget about the fact that they're athletes, except for the fact that they have the cash to spend on expensive cars. Would anyone visit a post that said "27 year old gets speeding ticket"? Is there a place on the planet that doesn't have young drivers going really fast? Now if Bud Adams gets a ticket for doing 104 mph, that might be news.

:scared: fact - most drivers speedfact - young people are more likely to speedfact - most young people like fast carsfact - most people with the money to spend on them will purchase fast carsfact - most people who own fast cars will speedseems pretty easy to conclude that NFL players are going to speed, the only question is how fast and if they're going so fast why don't they get in more accidents?

Or if Bud Adams gets a ticket for doing 104, and is caught on camera giving the cops the finger with both hands like he did the fans a couple weeks ago.

No, and I also wouldn't be interested in thread titled "27 year old beats his wife", but if an NFL player did it that would be news too. I also wouldn't be interested in a thread titled "group of 27 year olds wins intramural flag football title", but I am interested in which NFL teams win or lose. Weird. I know.

When my folks were out of town I was going to pick up some friends from a debate tournament in Sterling heights, to take them directly to a Metallica concert. Was blasting music in my dads Ford Probe and got poped on M-59 in a straightaway doing 101 in a 55.Got the ticket taken "under advisement" (dropped from my record in 6 months if I get no tickets). :penalty:

I actually had a funny experience while doing 100+. Me and buddy drove to Chicago to pick up a Toyota Supra that had bought via the internet. On our way back we decided to open it up to see what all the fuss was about. We were doing about 150 when behind us a cop pulls out of the shoulder of the road.. then just as fast... pulls back in. I guess he realized there was absolutely no way he was going to catch up from a dead stop and just let us go. We got off the first exit and grabbed something to eat. Pretty funny.

Would you say the same if it was a DUI?

This is where people lose perspective. It's a speeding ticket. It's not a DUI. It's not killing someone. It's not beating someone. It's not trafficking drugs. It's not raping someone. It's a speeding ticket. And I don't think I'm the only member here who is irritated at all the Stern Finger-Wagging Grandmothers equating doing something small (speeding) with something big (killing someone) so they can make their Fine Upstanding Moral Lectures For As Many Times As It Takes To Teach Everyone A Lesson.

Just me, but I have a lot less sympathy for celebrities or rich people who get DUIs. At least for me, when I was in college the reason we didn't call a cab is just not wanting to pay for it (I know, we were stupid) so if I thought I was probably okay but wasn't sure, I'd risk it. No reason for ballers to not get a limo or cab, have their ladies or just their crew in the back with them and have a better time on the way home.

Yes, the SFWG FUMLFAMTAITTTEAL is out of control.

Here in Ontario, that is considered street racing, and it is an automatic loss of license, and a huge fine

There is a big difference doing 15 over, and 50 over...I would think

They'll lose their license in Minnesota for this too, and I'd bet it's gonna be a pretty big fine. It's not like they aren't being punished for it. Most people just aren't willing to equate someone speeding(even excessive speeding) with a serious crime. Though, by reading this thread and the Peterson thread some apparently are willing to make that leap.

Change the topic name:

to "Packer fan desperately looks for anything remotely offensive about Vikings players"

or "Can't think of anything else bad to say about Farve, so lets start in on his receivers"

or "Hmmm, I think I need to get some face time on the FBG forum"

or "It would make my week if someone can figure a way this actually impacts FF"

or "I live in a glass house, can someone please cast a stone at the Vikings for me"

^ this is fun, I could go on all night... lol

LOL. "Hmmm, I think I need to get some face time on the FBG forum" is why I started this thread. However, I am a Packer fan but not desperately seeking attention. I don't have anything bad to say about Favre because I still love him. This could impact FF as I prefer to draft players that are not as likely to die in a fiery auto-crash. And I'm not sure what your last comment means but will take your word for it.

Please deduct 250 cool points for "picking up some friends from a debate tournament." Deduct another 100 cool point for "blasting music in my dad's Ford Probe" comment. Add 50 cool points for Metallica concert.

Was just having a bit of fun. I'm sorry. Looks like you may have enjoyed it as well.. The last comment? I assume you've broken the law somewhere before. Most people have.Good Luck with your games today

Before people start saying that they have cars that they can't tell how fast they are going, let me stop you. I've driven 130mph + in my 7 series over in Germany and let me tell you, once you hit around 105-110, you can tell the difference. I don't care what you say.

It's all relative when you're driving fast. If everyone else is speeding or there's no one around, a nice sports car feels pretty good from 80-120. I've never driving a Ferrari or Lamb but I imagine they're pretty sweet at 150+.My fastest was 145 in a 300Z (max'd out several times) in the early 90's. Once I was racing with an old Vette who pulled away at 140. It's not like we were weaving between cars - just a wide open empty straight interstate.I've driven the super-highways in France where the average speed was about 110. When everybody's doing it in Benz's and BMW's, it doesn't seem that fast.

doesn't make it right nor legal.
Legally, you shouldn't be doing 46 in a 45 either, but some of us are just badass outlaws.
Yeah, legally you aren't supposed to kill people either. I doubt that stops NFL players though because who doesn't?

:lmao: Awesome--that's a great link... never heard/saw that before. "you know everyone kills people, murders people, people steals from you, steals from me..." He goes on to say something to the effect you still have to give them a chance or everyone deserves a second chance. -Terrelle Pryor talking about Mike Vick.

I was just trying to have fun back. Hopefully I did not come across as too serious/defensive. Sometimes my sarcastic sense of humor rubs people the wrong way, especially on the internet. It was all in good jest. I hope your games went better for you today than mine did

In the country where I live in, the speeding fine is a proportion of your income. Trust me, the sports athletes who earn millions think twice about speeding.

Do you understand how big of a role speed plays in traffic accidents and deaths and how dangerous it is?Yes...DUI is worse....but overall, by the numbers, not much. And yes, a speeding ticket is not a big thing if its 70 in a 55 or so...but we are talking about speeds far exceeding the speed limit here. And no, it has nothing to do with him being a Viking...its just plain dumb. And where did I equate this with killing someone?

Someone else in the thread brought it up. Look back around post 19.And no, I don't want to hear your lectures about speeding tickets, millions of which are written in the US every year.
