Bernard Berrian left Friday's game on a cart after injuring his hamstring. That the cart had to come out to pick up Berrian suggests it could be a serious hamstring injury. Berrian did spend some time before at the trainer's table before being hauled off.

Sid Rice and Harvin (assuming he beats out Wade) went from future 1-2 to present if thats the case...

Berrian hobbled

INDIANAPOLIS — Vikings coach Brad Childress said following his team’s 13-3 victory over the Colts tonight that to his knowledge wide receiver Bernard Berrian was fine. It sure didn’t appear that way, however, to those of us who saw Berrian gingerly walk as he left the locker room and made his way to the team bus.

Berrian, who appeared to injure his hamstring in the first quarter while blocking on a run play, declined to speak to reporters but he did post on his Twitter page that, “I’ll be OK in due time. Appreciate the concern.” What that means is anybody’s guess but I think Berrian and the Vikings are going to be very careful with this injury. Berrian is known for his speed and hamstring injuries can linger if not treated properly.

Latest out of Minny on BB

That sound you hear is Jaymar Johnson's value, slowly rising. He is a speed guy that could very well get the deep routes Berrian runs.

Or he could have just tweaked it. Aren't you guys jumping the gun a little early? Let's see if he practices this week (or next) before you write off his entire season.

Aren't you just as guilty of jumping the gun with your statement, "Just a hamstring. He'll be fine by the time it matters."?

Bump up Harvin.
Possibly, but the Minnesota passing game doesn't really scream fantasy gold. They may use Chester and Adrian a bit more now, if Berrian is gone for quite some time.
I actually think the Minn passing game will be solid this year... teams are going to be SO focused on shutting down the running game, that it opens up things for the passing game. I think Tavaris gets a bad rap, but him with more time or Sage should also help a little.I am also still high on Rice... I think he can be a player in this league, has amazing leaping abaility and good hands, and he was YOUNG (20) and thin when he came out. A few years in, knee is healthy, I think he'll be a factor ESPECIALLY if Berrian misses any time.

I picked Steve Smith a few times when he has been dinged up in the preseason and never had a problem.

There are dozens of players right now that are nursing injuries and that number is going to grow. I might take people like Berrian a round later but these types of injuries don't scare me off completely.

I love owners who think like this to be in all my leagues!
So you guys are still going to NOT draft Berrian now that Favre has signed, right?
I don't think anyone said they weren't going to draft Berrian... just that it's a cause for concern and maybe bump him down a little (and Harvin/Rice up) as a result. Favre improves the overall passing offense - maybe - but that's independent of whether Berrian is healthy or not.

Berrian doesnt hace have torn ACL , he pulles a hamstring and is day to day .He will be back for regular season , no reason to bump him down a little .

When a speed receiver hurts his hamstring and is carted off, that's a reason for concern. And hamstring injuries have a way of lingering. So, yes, until we see him back in practice or at least have a better idea of the severity, there are plenty of reasons to monitor this and potentially bump him down.
