I threw a curveball earlier asking about the best quartet for '06 (QB/RB/WR/TE) and 12 of the 15 possible choices got picked...

The GMen came on top with solid players all around, edging the Seahawks who put up a strong showing also - but some other choices were quite interesting in my opinion...

From this, I wanted to throw a changeup and I'm now looking at the best 7 choices... same setup...

Suppose that the "first round" selection of your redraft league was picking 7 choices altogether (QB/RB/WR/WR/TE/K/Def)... and assume everyone is completely healthy...The best pick for redraft / performance / ppr / TErequired league is (i.e. FBG scroring + ppr)?

Obviously, I could only list 15 - based on my opinion... If you feel another team is the best one - just state it...

went with Cin - since Chad Johnson and TJ Housh are both monsters at WR, Rudi is terrific, the Bengals def is a top 5 fantasy def and Graham gets plenty of opportunities.

EDIT: Who is Kelly at Kicker? What happened to Shayne Graham?

Colts hands Down!

In a keeper league I'd take Browns though!
I'm really surprised at this sentiment and even more surprised that they are winning this poll. How can you pick the Colts with such an unproven RB as Adai?

Manning is a lock for top 5 QB & Harrison is a top 10 WR but after that....

IMHO the choice was between Arizona and Seattle.

James, Fitz & Boldin should all be top 10 at thieir positions in Arizona

and in Seattle you've probably got the #1 RB with a top 5 QB and a WR that's top 15 with a chance -if healthy- to sniff the top 10.

Replace Addai with Rhodes and you have an undisputed winner.

The key number here is 7, when it was 4 I picked Seattle

But it going to 7 really doesn't change the equation. More to the point...if it DID change it it would probably change it in Seattle's favor.Manning vs Hasselbeck: call that a +25 for the Colts (based on last year's finish of 294 to 277)

Alexander vs Adai/Rhodes: Last year Alexander outscoured Edge by 100pts. I see no reason to think Adai or Rhodes will fair much better. call it +75 for the Seahawks.

WRs are tricky because of the injuries and changes in Seattle. Harrison & Wayne combined for a shade over 300pts last season. Jurevicius & Engram combined for just over 200pts. Jackson tossed in another 66 when he was playing. Call this +50 for the Colts

So the top 4 spots are pretty much a wash. If I was forced to draft one I'd err on the side of the proven, highest scoring RB in the league, and take Seattle.

The bottom 3 probably put it over the edge for Seattle.

Stevens > Clark

Vinatieri > Brown

Seattle D > Indy D

I can understand how people could pick the Colts here because it's basically a tie. That's why I find it interesting that they are so handily winning the poll over both Seattle and Arizona. The Colts are NOT "clearly better" so why are the so clearly winning the poll? I hate to fall back on the "R word" but it does seem that teams like Seattle, Cincy and Arizona simply don't get the respect of a team like the Colts or the Pats. Probabably because they haven't been shoved down our throats by every media outlet on the free world for the last 5 years.

Not that I'm bitter

I think your overestimating your current receivers and what your QB will do with those receivers. That's just my opinion though.

i'm too tired to actually do this now, but i'd wager that if you looked at the stats from last season for these teams (with last year's starters) that the top 5 order would have been:

Cincy

Sea

SD

Indy

NYG

.

Hoping that someone will prove me wrong =P

My bad - the Bengals have only 6 "names" in the poll... Keely is Reggie Kelly the TE... Graham is missing from the list (between Kelly and Bengals)

Interesting that you don't list Burleson.
there were a few close calls... just posted them as I thought it would be on the first weekend... same goes for the Colts RB situation - I don't have a problem wih people stating that it should be Rhodes and not Addai listed...

I'll be looking into this tomorrow... I'll give the top5 - for sure...
