I signed up for a "Best Ball" auction on fantasyauctioneer. It's a regular auction format (12 team, start 1/2/3/1/1/1), but there's no roster changes all year. The "best ball" format means that you get points for your best possible starting roster each week, it would be like setting your roster each week after the games are played. It seems like a good way to get everyone to take the auction seriously (we each had to put up $10), without having to make a commitment for the year.

Any strategy tweaks that you guys know of for this type of format?

It seems like a good strategy would be to load up on boom/bust type players, guys that will put up huge numbers one week, but do nothing others. Their big weeks will pay off and I don't need to worry about prediction when they will happen. One more piece of info, there are 11 bench players - 20 roster spots total. I'm thinking of using a lot of bench spots on WR and QB as those positions seem to have the biggest point swings week to week.
