Curious which division you think is the best in the NFL.

Please feel free to say one has the best offenses and another has the best defenses so overall, best offenses and best defenses please.

Offense: AFC South (Titans, Colts, Texans, Jaguars)Defense: AFC North (Ravens, Steelers, Bengals, Browns)Overall: AFC Northhonorable mention: NFC East
 Defense in Cincinnati and Cleveland?I would put forth the defenses of the NFC East... Cowboys, Giants, Eagles, and even the Redskins over the Bungles and Brownies.Von

Agreed - AFC North is a bad pick - 2 of the best D's, but then 2 that are among the worst - does not a best division at D make.

Overall - NFC East (Giants and Eagles I think are preseason top 5 teams in NFL, Cowboys and Redskins are probably in the 10-15 range)

Defense - NFC East (Giants, Eagles and Redskins should all be top 10, Cowboys probably 10-15 range)

Offense - actually no division really stands out here. I think it's pretty close between AFC South and NFC South

Top 5: Colts, Saints

Top 10: Texans, Falcons

Top 15: Titans, Panthers

Top 25: Jags

Top 30: Bucs

I guess that would slightly lean towards the AFC South.

Looking purely at the defensive rankings...

The only thing we have to base these rankings on are 2008 results & our opinions of the changes the teams made in the off season.

Here are the raw rankings from last year.

Cleveland and Cincy had improved defenses last season, especially Cincy. The problem was that their offense was so bad without Palmer that they were on the field way too much. I expect the Bengals to be a surprise team this year.Cleveland is...well...Cleveland. So I expect them to be...well...Cleveland.

The big question for Cincy, other than Palmer's health, is the running game. The rumors of Cedric Benson's resurrection are greatly exaggerated.

SteelDillo, thank you for posting those useful stats

Are we looking at yards per game offense? or yards allowed by the defense? I'm thinking it's D

thanks again
