Best Fantasy Schedules For DEF/ST (1 Viewer)

Does anyone see Indy losing value as a defensive matchup with Orlovsky in there?
The Pats high school defense will make any QB look good.
I thought they would be fantasy gold against Indy, and started over the Pittsburgh D. Was very lucky to win despite that goof in judgment. I was thinking of holding them for their matchup with Denver, but now I don't see any reason to hold this D anymore. Agree/disagree?

What do you guys think about Atlanta at home next week versus Jacksonville?

Seems nice to me since ATL's strength is the run and if they stack to stop MJD, Gabbert's not going to beat them.

Thoughts?

That's who I plan on using.Week 16 (if I'm fortunate enough to get there) is the one that's killing me. I currently have the Broncos, so I'm thinking about holding them for a game against the Bills, but it's certainly not a great matchup. Unfortunately, I don't see anything else that's decent. Other than that, the best I see on my wire is the Rams against Pittsburgh or holding onto Atlanta against a Saints team that will hopefully not have much to play for, or possibly the Vikings against the Redskins...but that's another one that doesn't look that great.

I don't really see Baltimore's schedule as being any better than Cincy's. Houston with Leinart should rocket up the Def pts against rankings.
How has the loss of Hall affected the Bengal's defensive fantasy production

At first glance, Detroit at #10 with 3 solid matchups seems like a gimmie. But I actually dropped them last week (going into NO) after using them the entire year. I just didn't like going into Oakland W15, where Carson should be settled in by now and you have a team that is fighting for the playoffs. Maybe even McFadden returns, but regardless, I think Oakland will be tough and certainly not sloppy. Doubt weather will be a factor either, if you're into that...

I realize Herman's numbers show Oakland actually turning the ball over a LOT at home (2nd highest), but when you look closer a lot of that came with Campbell and Boller at the helm. And hell, almost half of that total was the Chiefs with 6 in one game (Boller and Palmer each with 3). Then Oakland hit the road for a couple. So the only game Oakland played at home with Palmer fully ready was Chicago. They had one turnover in that one. Personally, I'd rather go off that.

Moving on, in W16 Detroit's at home against another team with a veteran QB fighting for the playoffs in Rivers. And again, no weather issues, obviously. I just don't like either of those situations. I don't know, I guess I'm more about facing the Gabberts and Orlovskys and/or teams that look like they'll lay down.

They haven't been anything special. They also just lost tackle Pat Sims. Carlos Dunlap has been out the past 2 or 3 games, and Nate Clements was out last week. I don't think Dunlap or Clements practiced yesterday. This was a decent unit early in the season, but they only have 4 turnovers the past 5 games. I'm holding on to them and waiting to see if Dunlap comes back. Not sure if they signed anyone to take Sims' spot.

What seems confusing to me is that on the top 250 going forward, they have Minnesota in the top grouping, and THE "rent-a-defense" everyone has been salivating over Tennessee, is on the little value list. What gives? This doesn't make much sense to me.

I wonder if Dodds just doesn't put a lot of effort into his K and Def rankings for the top 250. They usually seem pretty contrarian.

Could be because of their horrible matchup vs. NO this week. Next week I would expect their ranking to shoot way up.

I agree. I prefer Bloom's rent-a-defense, and wish he'd bother to rank defenses like Dodds/Henry do. The suggestions have been money for me. And I glance at Dodds kicker rankings, but always defer to Herman's rankings. That too has worked out for me, though not as good as the rent-a-defense. It'd be good to get a rent-a-kicker article from Herman, and at least discuss the rationale behind the rankings.

Detroit did well at times this year, but in the last couple of weeks I've started St. Louis' defense over Detroit and it's worked out.

I just dropped Detroit for Seattle this week, and then I am rolling with Tennesse if I make it to weeks 15 and 16.

Dodds' weekly defense rankings usually don't make any sense until later in the week like Friday or Saturday, it seems.

I've been planning MIA this week, however DET maybe a good play if Ponder does not go.. even better if Ponder AND AP are out. I used them most of the year, however agree they are a dicey play... however they could do some damage against MIN at home. They are still in a race, and highly motivated

Yeah, I didn't figure Ponder would be out when I dropped them, just knew Suh would be...

I am going with the Atlanta/Oakland combo for weeks 15 and 16. It's not ideal, as a number of the good choices (Cincy, Tennessee, Seattle, etc.) are taken in my league.

I feel really good about Atlanta against the Jags in week 15. I'm not quite as thrilled about Oakland against the Chiefs in week 16, but it should at least be a decent pickup.

I hate to say this, but Oakland DST is not worth holding at this point. There just has to be safer options on the wire, even for that KC game.

I wish there were. The only other option that I can really see as a possibility is Minnesota vs. Washington, but they are just as risky as Oakland. My other options are...Miami (playing the Pats)St. Louis (playing the Steelers)Kansas City (Raiders)Cleveland (Ravens)Buffalo (Broncos)Jacksonville (Titans)San Diego (Lions)Tampa Bay (Carolina)Carolina (Tampa Bay)Indy (Texans)Yeah, it's ugly.

Does anyone play Gridiron Challenge? Shouldn't Seattle have gotten points for the blocked punt and TD tonight? Don't see it yet. Do they add it overnight?

Updated through Week 14. I listed points allowed to def/st, so the more points = better match up.

Team, Week 15, Week 16, Opponents in those weeks
