Best FREE League Manager Site? (1 Viewer)

Trying to organize a league at work and can not get to MyFantasyLeague or Yahoo, so I am left to scramble to sites I can reach. My options are as follows:

1) ESPN - have never used it and hear mixed reviews

2) FoxSports/MSN - didn't even realize they had a service

3) NFL.com - might not be an option

Does anyone have thoughts on the matter?

I like foxsports free live scoring they had some server problems last year so Im guessing people may hate on them this year but Im definatly giving them a try this year.

have you tried AOL?
I've posted this a few times in different threads, and I don't work for AOL, or even use AOL for anything but fantasy football. We used AOL's Commissioner Service - called Fantasy League Manager. Totally free. No AOL spam. Exact same as Fanball's Commisioner service - in fact it is powered by fanball. Last year when I sent an e-mail asking for help, I got a response from fanball.

The league is fully customizable with every option we wanted. It was very easy to set up our league. I definitely think it is worth a look.

I think the Web filter software will block access cuz the AOL service has "Fantasy" in its URL; however, I am going to VPN to work in a minute to see.

Thanks for the AOL advice, as I would never have went there otherwise.

Alright AOL didn't work out for me, so it looks like ESPN and FoxSports are my only options.

I have mockdrafted at ESPN and it seems like there is potential for some bugginess.

Just so you know you actually can get around the corporate firewall with MFL here is a list of urls that will work.http://sidelineleagues.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1374

does sidelineleagues.com work?fflm.com?

or sidesoft.com?

Ask MFL to frame your league page then, then you can visit it and use their site. It'd take them a minute if not less to do this

That's unnecessary as the workaround they recommend should circumvent most corprate firewall software out there.

oh yeah? hmmm OK, didn't know, well what workaround do they suggest?

FWIW unless things have changed a lot in last 2 yrs, NFL.com is BY FAR the worst (surprise surprise - I think the entire site is run by monkeys on acid). Yahoo (ie freebie) sucks too, so you're not missing much there.

Have heard mixed reviews on the rest - recall they had more power/flexibility but were also buggy as mentioned.

what's that you say? Use the IP address instead of the URL? Good idea, glad you posted it

Thanks for all the feedback.

Now leaning towards an offline draft, which makes the race a little more even; personally, I am an MFL fan, but I'll keep everyone posted.

Fleaflicker is a great free site. Sportsline is the gold standard if you can afford it, but for a free league, i think it's solid.

For site blocking at work, you can always try surfing through a translation page, like google translate. But that doesn't work for all sites.
