I voted other and here's my guy:

Lawrence Maroney. I have been hyping this guy like a mother since his freshman year. He is, in a word, electric. While Bush and Peterson get all the publicity from playing on the best teams in the nation, Maroney has done more with less than either of these two guys. Splitting time with Marion Barber III (now with the Cowboys) Maroney has managed to rack up 2,500 yards and 22 touchdowns. Oh, and he's a junior. He has thirteen 100-yard games (including 7 in a row) and is averaging 6.5 YPC for his career.

When this guy gets out into the open field, he is simply dangerous. Amazing vision and a smooth, gliding style that remind me of footage from Gayle Sayers.

Unsure if he comes out or not this year, but IMO, I think this guy has THE most pro potential of any player in the country right now.
:goodposting: This guy isn't running behind a line made up entirely of road graders. This guy is doing it without being on USC. That's impressive to me. I worry about the holes being a lot smaller in the NFL and Bush floundering as a result. Not saying it will happen, but I think that Moroney has more experience making something out of nothing than Bush....

Maroney looks very good...Bush is a generational talent.

I'm even more sold on him after seeing how well Marion Barber has played for Dallas. Everyone considered him to be a better NFL prospect than Barber last year and Barber being successful makes Maroney appear to be a potential stud RB in the NFL.

I rank em this way:1. Bush2. Bush3. BushNo contest. As somebody else said earlier....and as ESPN wrote......."a Reggie Bush type talent only comes around once a generation".

Huh, Minn has got an incredible Oline. Especially when it comes to run blocking. I would say they are the best run blocking unit in the nation.

I would agree. Look at the success of every Minny RB since Mason took over. Maroney is definitely a stud, but Minny's OL is very good and helps a lot.

NFL Draft Scouts recently updated RB rankings...

2006 Draft Class

1. DeAngelo Williams, Memphis - 1st round

2. Joe Addai, LSU - 1st round

3. Brad Smith, Missouri - 1st/2nd

4. Leon Washington, FSU - 1st/2nd

5. Andre Hall, South Florida - 2nd/3rd

2007 Draft Class

1. Reggie Bush, USC - 1st round

2. Laurence Maroney, Minnesota - 1st round

3. LenDale White, USC - 1st round

4. Lorenzo Booker, FSU - 1st round

5. Maurice Drew, UCAL - 1st round
that's funny, they put Brad Smith as a RB :) He is a dynamic runner for sure, I doubt he would get drafted 1st round as a RB though. WR maybe?

True. Eslinger is the top center in the country and run blocking is his forte. Setterstrom is a top 3 guard nationwide. Spaeth is a dominating blocker at TE, and big Junior tackle named Ainsle (Sp?) is making noise with NFL scouts. This is the best run blocking in the country. Both of Maroney's backups have looked as good as him. Well, Russell looks better to be honest. Amir Pinnix just ran for over 200 yards on 32 carries. This is a system.

Everything I've heard about Smith projects him as an NFL WR. That's the first I've seen him projected as a RB. To get into the first round, I think he'd have to put on a show at the combine like Matt Jones. Otherwise, he's a late-second/early-third round pick.
