Casey Kasem had issues with that song. He did not like having to come out of it and have to talk about a dog named Snuggles.
Nothing much to do with the Pointer Sisters, but I thought you and the house might enjoy this article written upon Kasem's 2014 passing. I hadn't realized he was still doing a countdown radio program as recently as 2009 -- I thought he'd passed the official Billboard Top 40 radio show to Shadoe Stevens sometime in the 1990s. But I know there were competing countdown shows, so I guess Kasem hung on to one of them.

EDIT: Ah, the countdown show handoff was a little complicated:

Co-creator Casey Kasem hosted the original AT40 from its inauguration on July 4, 1970, until August 6, 1988. Shadoe Stevens took over the program on August 13, 1988, and hosted until January 28, 1995, when the original program came to an end. Three years later, Kasem teamed up with Premiere's predecessor AMFM Radio Networks to relaunch AT40. Kasem, who had spent nine years hosting his own countdown Casey's Top 40 for Westwood One, returned to hosting his creation on March 28, 1998. [Ryan] Seacrest took over AT40 on January 10, 2004, following Kasem's retirement from the series.

gotta be a snob on this'n. first of all, I rank their debut album ahead of Boston's and maybe all others. there isnt a song off that record i would rate behind any of their hit-phase songs. and there are 4-5 songs on there better than Yes We Can Can on it (including the remarkable That's How I Feel). since it was the runaway highlight of their live show when they were a foursome because it really brought out what they'd been working out since they was babies, i'd go with Jada.

and  next of all, my favorite female vocal performance of all time, Black Coffee is on their second album so technically, that's the best. but it's only Bonnie so doesnt really represent. check that early #### out, tho - it's some f'real.
