A lot of Tupac, Jay Z, & Nas could make the top 10, but I nominate Juicy as the number 1 rap song of 90's...

Great song. But I'm going with Black Sheep's "The Choice Is Yours"Off the top of my head a top 10 list, in no order, based on both my love of them and general popularity, would be:
Obvious:
Snoop - Gin & Juice
Dr Dre & Tupac - California Love
Nas - Halftime
Dr Dre & Snoop - Nuthin But a G Thang
Biggie - Juicy
Slight "off the radar":
Pete Rock & CL Smooth - They Reminisce Over You
Souls of Mischief - '93 til Infinity
Mobb Deep - Shook Ones, Pt. II
Big L - Put It On
Geto Boys - Mind Playing Tricks on Me
I'd throw out Da Mystery of Chessboxin' personally.two that come to mind

but probably Shadowboxing off the Liquid Swords album.
I never thought El-P was good until the aughts, frankly. Never liked Company Flow. Love his solo stuff. Any thoughts? Cancer 4 Cure is a freaking timebomb of an album.Very little as far as I'm concerned. Ultramagnetic MCs, Kool Keith, and Straight Outta Compton. That's about it until El-P came along.
I'm not sure El-P was working in '90s. I'm just not a big hip-hop fan, and it tends to come down to the producers for me. Should have included Mos Def.I never thought El-P was good until the aughts, frankly. Never liked Company Flow. Love his solo stuff. Any thoughts? eta* Straight Outta Compton is '88 or '89.
I wouldn't go quite that far, but no doubt the 90s was the golden age of rap.Seriously, there are 100 great rap songs from the 90's.
There are about 4 since then.

So much good west coast #### from the 90's...
I couldn't even make a top 10 list

Don't Sweat The Technique was the 90's? Oh, my.Early 90s jazz-influenced rap is the ####.
A Tribe Called Quest - Check The Rhime
Eric B. and Rakim - Don't Sweat The Technique
Armed and dangerous, ain't too many can bang with usLet The Rhythm Hit Em.
Got My Mind Made Up
Something off of Life After Death - those albums are so incredible that Biggie gets shorted because it's so hard to put one song at the top at the expense of another.
Gangsta of Love (vulgar as it may be) is even better. Using Sweet Home Alabama (and the Joker from Steve Miller version) was just funky awesome.fantasycurse42 said:Great songKenny Powers said:Geto Boys - Mind Playing Tricks on Me
Outkast has so many great songs, but I have trouble even picking my own favorite or top 5 let alone a song Id call top 5 or top 10 of the 90's. Southernplayalistic, ATLiens, and Aquemini may all very well be in my top 10 favorite albums of all time, and thats part of it, those albums are amazing because of the sum of their parts not because of a few hit singles. So nobody has even mentioned Outkast. Rosa Parks or spottieottiedopaliscious
Good ones listed. I bolded what I feel is the best from the 90's.Kenny Powers said:Off the top of my head a top 10 list, in no order, based on both my love of them and general popularity, would be:
