Best Rap Songs of the 90's (1 Viewer)

Can't believe I forgot:

Jurassic 5 - their full '98 album but I'll go with Jayou as one tune.

While it's cross over, I believe Ozomatli had some live jam / rap tunes around that same time also.
For J5's debut LP, or even best song period, Id easily go with Concrete Schoolyard.

And yes, Ozomatli had some rap tracks on their debut. Chali 2Na was the rapper on it.
CS works for me. I saw Ozo play live a couple times at small venues in LA during the late '90's - were just awesome shows.

Can't believe it took this long for Digible. I just downloaded reachin' - I don't personally recall a full album that worked so well, front to end, as reachin'

The first half is great tune after great tune. Really brings back some kick ### memories

Not to mention you know an album rocks when it's good enough to still be great after so long. How long? Both the Knicks AND runnin' rebels were relevant

Been listening to so much Ice Cube lately... He gets respect, but I don't think enough. He has sooooo much good stuff from the 90's!

i got him in my top 10. not many artists with 4 classic albums and a career lasting 20+ years.
Not to be argumentative but I'll easily give you America's and Death Certificate. Are the other 2 Predator and Lethal Injection or are you counting Straight Outta Compton for 1?

I should change that to he has "arguably" 4 classics. One could make the case for predator and lethan injection as well(they are classics to me).

I count Straight Outta Compton, Kill At Will EP as classics....Predator, Lethal Injection and that Lench Mob album all solid offerings. Cube was that dude back in the early 90s before Hollywood came calling.

Juicy wasn't even the best song on that album... Big didn't even want to do it. Puff convinced him to do it because he needed some radio friendly tracks.

"Everyday Struggle" >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Juicy

Raw, hard drum beat, with BIG ripping it apart on the Mic. No hook, no tricks, no pop influence. Just raw hip hop at it's best.

Just played So Whatcha Want from the Beastie Boys, and my 7-year-old said I should turn it off because it makes him dance funky.
