Best way to get custom FF alerts? (1 Viewer)

I'm trying to figure out the best way to get an SMS or email if there's breaking news for one of my players. Anyone know the best way to do this?

It'd be a great addition to myFBG - have it send you an sms or email with news comes through for one of the players in your profiles.

But since we don't have that, is there a way you are doing it? I looked at ifttt.com but they only have this for yahoo leagues. It doesn't look like MFL supports such a thing either...

I've never heard of theScore, but I'll check it out. Thanks for posting that!

One that I used last year that I loved was Thuuz. You can sync it with your fantasy teams so the players stay up to date (if you refresh it) and you will get push alerts on those players.

Anybody ever use theScore and Thuuz both? Any insight as to which is better?

Edit: Also, Bleacher Report Team Stream is very similar to these. To be honest, I forget which of Thuuz and Team Stream I liked better because I forget which was which. Maybe someone else can clarify.

Espn takes a few minutes to set up but it's a good update system. I just set it to text me every scoring play of the season but you don't have to go that far if only want certain teams or to follow certain players.

I have Rotoworld set up on my Twitter feed and when something gets posted it gets pushed to my phone. I could probably do the same with other sites and just turn off the folks you follow that you don't want to know what they posted instantly.

Isn't Thuuz the app where you can load all your fantasy teams from any site into. Then instead of checking ESPN, Yahoo, CBS, etc. you can just check Thuuz?

I can't remember if it was Thuuz or one of the other ones. I was using 2 or 3 of them last year to see which I liked best and I stupidly uninstalled all of them after the season was over so I don't even remember the result.

I do remember one of them having this function although it wasn't that great and I barely used it for that. It might be fine if you wanted to check the final score for all teams at once, but if you want anything "live" about it then you should just stick to the platforms real app.

I did love the player alerts though. You can tell it to alert you when a player you have listed either scores or goes over a certain yardage total. Very useful when your forced to not be in front of a TV and can't be checking your score on your phone constantly. Nice to just see notifications at the top to keep you in the loop.

TheScore is a great app. I've been using it for my fantasy baseball league, and planning to use it for football this year.
