Better numbers this season - Rice or Ricky? (1 Viewer)

Who do you guys see as putting up better numbers this season, Ray Rice or Ricky Williams. Each back has it's downsides.

Rice - McGahee is back this week and there is also talk of a 3 way committee with McClain going forward. McGahee seems like he's in the doghouse, so tha may mean more carries for Rice? Baltimore sucks.

Williams - Already passed on the depth chart by Ronnie. Injury risk. RBBC at best, backup/3rd down at worst. Miami sucks.

Who will put up the better numbers?

Ricky is still #1 on the depth chart.
I think that changed this week.

Ronnie Brown worked ahead of Ricky Williams at Dolphins practice Wednesday.

The Dolphins' staff has made formal depth chart switches in practice at several other positions in the last few weeks (e.g. free safety, wide receiver) and we could have another one here. Williams took first-team handoffs throughout training camp and the preseason. While a carry split is still certain for Week 2, Brown is the more valuable fantasy back if he's starting.

Based on what I've seen so far, I think it's a risky proposition to make the statement "Baltimore sucks". They MIGHT still suck, but Flaco and the RBBC and most importantly the defense look like they could press Pittsburg for the division.

Miami still sucks, but you can also see obvious improvements in their game as well.

I don't like either of your choices at this point; I would advise flipping a coin in your thinly veiled who do I pick up / trade for / start thread...

You got me :lmao:When I say Balt more sucks, I mean as an offense, not as a team.

this is a very tough question right now. i think it's a wait and see, as we all know a lot can happen in one week in the NFL.

will mcgahee be able to stay healthy? R.Brown? if both these guys stay healthy i see Ricky maybe getting a few more touches then Rice. but who knows. the value for these guys is when/if the guy in front of them gets hurt.

http://www.miamidolphins.com/newsite/team/depth_chart.aspThe Dolphins have been doing this all year. People bite too much on what they see them doing in practice. They were also running with Hagan as the #1 WR. They are changing this around, trying to find a perfect fit. It really wouldn't even matter who is starting, because they will be sharing carries ALL year, as long as both are healthy. To be honest... I think that it would be best if they ran Ronnie in the 1st and 3rd quarters, and Ricky in the 3rd and 4th. Ricky hammers the defense in the 4th quarter.

Unlike some, I just don't think the Willis/Rice or Ronnie/Ricky is an all or nothing proposition. Both Rice and Ronnie will get some carries, however from all that we've heard it will be Ricky that should get more in comparison to the RBBC situations.

My best guess

Willis/Rice..........75%/25%

Ronnie/Ricky......65%/45%

The running game is the strength of both these offenses.

I do think that Ricky will prove to have the most value this season due to goalline work and a larger % of carries.

65 + 45 = 110%I agree, the Dolphins will need to give 110% to win any games this season :excited:

10% of the time they will both carry it on the same play. Kind of like a 3-legged race. Or else that is a lot of reverses! ;)
