Better RB for 2006? (1 Viewer)

If it is true that Taylor is healthy and in great shape he poses less risk than Dillon, potentially also less rewards as his TDs have been sadly lacking.

Who do you like for '06?
Right now I like Corey Dillon a bit more. It think it's going to be RBBC a bit in Jacksonville. Greg Jones is a pretty darn good bruiser. Fred Taylor doesn't get the goalline carries. Maurice Drew might take on some type of third down role as well. I just don't see Fred getting more then 210-220 carries. I have him rated about where Maurile Tremblay has him Maurile Tremblay 210 895 4.3 5 22 164 I see Dillon, if he can stay healthy, getting at least 240 carries. I'd say 240 for 1000 and rumbling into the endzone 8 or 9 times. He won't catch a ton of balls either but he isn't likely to get pulled at the stripe.

The problem I have with offseason comments about or from Taylor. It seems every uear he's in the best shape of his career and he's done more to get in shape than ever before. And we've seen the results--like a shotgun blast. And he is allergic to the end zone lately. In the past 2 years (503 touches), he's only scored 6 times.

For those of you going with Dillon...

How often do 31 year old RBs bounce back from a season like 2005? I could see if Dillon was 25 and in his prime projected to be 100% but... he's not. He's a (about to be) 31 year old RB that had the wheels come off last year.

That's not even accounting for the fact that genius Bill Belichick used his first round pick on a RB.

Fred Taylor doesn't have a lot going for him either, but he was at least averaging 71 rushing yards per game @ 4.1 per... which suggests he still has a LITTLE left in the tank... and he doesn't have a first rounder nipping at his heels either.

Say whatever you want about Maurice Drew, the fact is most 3rd round RBs end up as backups in this league.

Not hugely fond of either, but I would be much less surprised if Taylor squeezed out another 1,000 yard season.

Best case scenario for Dillon is a Bettis type role in 2006. He picks up the slack in a few games when Maroney struggles and maintains goal line duty.

From what I've seen in New England, Dillon will start the year as the clear #1 until he gets hurt. As long as he's healthy and productive, Maroney will be along for the ride (or so it seems). How likely it is that Dillon stays healthy and repeats his 2004 season is open for debate, but at this point it does not appear that Dillon is not playing second fiddle to start the season.

Dillon Rushes for 1500/7....

Taylor rushes for 500/1

I don't see much of a debate here. You forget to carry a 1 or somethinng?
