Hi Folks,

We're ready for the big announcement.

In life, there are few situations that are truly so easy to make that you don't need to weigh the positives and negatives. We are happy to present one such "no-brainer" to you today as we've partnered with the guys at FanDuel.com.

For people that don't currently have an account with FanDuel, FanDuel will give you a FREE Footballguys Insider Subscription ($28.95 value) if you open a FanDuel account and deposit just $25 in it.

For real.

To get the deal, go here.

Already have a Footballguys subscription? No problem, you can still get this deal and we will add a year to however long you're signed up for now. If you're signed up for 2012 already, sign up with FanDuel, deposit the $25 and you'll get the Footballguys Insider for the 2013 season. If you have a multi year Footballguys Insider subscription, no problem. Sign up with FanDuel, deposit the $25 and you'll have one year added on to however many years you have left on the Footballguys Insider subscription.

The only requirement on this is that you need to be a new member to FanDuel.

The skeptic in all of us tries to breakdown these "no-brainers" and look for a catch. Except in this case, there is no catch. Footballguys has entered into a longterm commitment to promote the FanDuel daily games because we believe they are the leaders in this space going forward. FanDuel has entered into a deal with us because they believe we are the best at what we do (provide fantasy analysis). They believe their games match perfectly our Footballguys audience which I've long said are the most knowledgeable and serious Fantasy Owners on the planet. Our commitment to FanDuel will include three articles a week (during the regular season) breaking down their salary cap games in hopes to give our Footballguys an edge in this space.

Plain and simple, we believe our guys will love the FanDuel game. And in turn for us helping them get new customers, FanDuel is willing to purchase from us a year of the Footballguys Insider Subscription for them. It's not any more complicated than that.

A few more details:

-Only new FanDuel accounts are eligible for this promotion. Existing FanDuel players are not eligible. Sorry, but the reason FanDuel is doing this is to add new customers for them.

-You must deposit $25 or more on your first deposit to receive a Footballguys Insider subscription. It's actually even a bit better than that as when you deposit $25, you'll receive a $10 bonus into your account that is paid out as players enter money games.

-You will receive an email to activate your Footballguys Insider subscription within 48 hours of your initial deposit.

-You must play through a minimum of $25 on FanDuel before requesting a withdrawal. Anyone who attempts to withdraw money prior to this will have their subscription permanently revoked.

-There is no money back guarantee on Footballguys Insider subscriptions obtained via this promotion.

Let me repeat the offer so that it sinks in...

1. Deposit $25 or more into a new FanDuel Account

2. Get a Footballguys Subscription for this year (or add an additional year)

3. Earn $10 in bonus money by playing at FanDuel

This is $28.95 (FBG subscription) + $25 (deposit to play FanDuel Games) + $10 (earned bonus for FanDuel Games) worth of value for just $25. For those doing the math at home, that's $63.95 worth of value for that $25. It's the "no-brainer" of this year's football season. Come join us in enjoying our 50,000+ pages of subscription content and 92 weekly features.

Rock on.

Joe and David

deadline to do so?
Through the season but the Footballguys Insider Subscription is just for the 2012 season. So the earlier you sign up, the more of the Insider Subscription you'll get to use.J
And if we have one, the added on year will be a full year still?
yes if you have a current season subscription, we will add the 2013 season. If you have a current 3 season subscription, we will add another year to that

-You must play through a minimum of $25 on FanDuel before requesting a withdrawal. Anyone who attempts to withdraw money prior to
Does this mean we have to lose $25 dollars? Or we're good as long as we play, say five $5 games, win and cash out with $38 bucks or whatever.

You just have to play through your $25. Playing 5 games at $5 meets that requirement and you could withdraw all dollars in your account at that time.

super sucks that like with many other things in this world that only "new members" get a good deal....while existing customers get a punch in the nuts....

would have been nice to find some sort of compromise for existing FBG/FanDuel members and throw them a bone of some sort if this really is going to be a "long term" committment....

really what would it have hurt in the long term grand scheme of things.....a few more bones tossed out would still mean some more business/activity at their site and a little good PR for them showing they appreciate current members as much as new ones....

but anyway....great deal for those lucky enough to take advantage of it....

do you have to draft a different team each week or can you draft one team for the entire year?
It is salary cap contest. Each week there are different values for the players. So you set a lineup for that week based on those salaries and compete against someone who does the same. You can play head to head, against 5 people or in a big league for prizes.I played last year and it's a lot of fun. An injury doesn't kill you as it's just for that one week. We will have three articles a week with advice on how to best these games.

From FanDuel's perspective, they want new customers. They are paying a premium for them. We did get the deal for people with existing FBG accounts. But they need new customers to justify their expenses.

just skimming through eligibility, found this tidbit you should probably know:

If you are a resident of Arizona, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Montana, or Vermont, you cannot play FanDuel for real money.
I assume that means no deposits to the account from those states.

I can't wait for the big announcement later todayOr was that it?
Actually, I consider this a very big announcement. I subscribe to Footballguys every year. This gives me a free year's subscription and introduces me to another vehicle for my gambling addiction. WIN-WIN in my book.

no crap...I get that part and I'm not even a business major...and they'll get their new members...as will FBG...mission accomplished.....with a nut punch thrown in....a compromise for FanDuel's existing members could have been that people that have/purchase a FBG subsription and then deposit an additional $25 into FanDuel would get an additional $25 added to thier account at FanDuel which could be played and lost but never withdrawn...I would imagine they would end up getting much of that back....I would also imagine that FBG's is not charging FanDuel the entire cost of a FBG subsciption so the "premium" they are paying is not as premium as it may seem.....how much is FBG charging FanDuel per subscription...?

Cool, a $3.95 discount.
I guess it would be that if you just deposited the money with FanDuel and forgot about it. That's still a good discount. Most people will use the $25 to participate in the game and hopefully win money. Or at least have fun trying.J

We apologize, but for legal reasons we cannot accept deposits and paid play from users in Maryland.

...... wouldn't the simple workaround just be to sign up to fanduel with a different email address and credit card?

I'm willing to imagine 95% of members have more than one credit card... even if they are "cash money, homey"

I hate companies who treat existing customers as numbers instead of customers. Real sour taste in my mouth.
How is this any different that poker sign up bonuses? You get a great deal the FIRST time you sign up. Are the people that have FanDuel accounts saying they never received anything for signing up (no bonus)?

Fanduel is a good product I like to play NFL and NHL over there and mostly just do the 50/50 games which always seem to win me a decent amount of money. I never play anything Baseball though. I usually deposit about $100 a year on Fanduel and most times break even. They have a fun $10 contest every week in the NFL where you can try to win a trip to Vegas to play for big money.

I like Fanduel when my real Fantasy teams are sucking it up around week 6 or 7

I would feel the same if I signed up for FBGPoker.com and got a $5 bonus then next month every new FBGPoker account gets $50 and offers existing customers nothing. But thems the breaks I guess. All I could do was have them cancel my account in protest.
