:stillers: I, for one, think we will see just that next Sunday.

pitt needs to get their collective heads out of their collective asses to beat the pats. we all know it could happen since it happened already, but if they play anywhere near as pathetically as they did yesterday, they will be booed off the field by halftime.

the only thing Ben will embarrass is himself. Have you been watching him the last 6+ weeks? Talk about regression. He gave the game to the Jets yesterday. Only reason Steelers are still alive is because of a crappy kicker. Did you see what the Pats did to the Jets in week 15? If the Steelers struggled against them, they will really struggle against the Pats. You yahoos in Steeler country oughtta get used to the site of Corey Dillon ripping thru your #1 ranked defense. Remember, you are the team that has blown not one, not two, but three AFC championships at home under Cowher. Pats and Falcons in SuperBowl

Someone's a tad bitter...But if Ben stomps NE, doesn't that mean Pitt would have crushed Manning & co. much, much worse?

It will be a close, physical football game. Nobodoy's going to blow out anyone in that game.Corey Dillon didn't play in that game, you saw vs. Indy just how important he is to the offense. Also, I'm not sure how healthy Ben R.'s hand is. Again, I'm looking forward to this game, Johnny you shouldn't use adjectives like embarass when referring to the Patriots, especially when they just held the MVP of the leauge, the same guy who broke the single season passing TD record to zero TD's. It'll be a close game, and the winner should be the SB winner.

You're not biased or anything are ya Tuna?Remember, it was YOUR team who had their goal line defense in at midfield in the 4th quarter and still could not stop OUR running game.Oh, and remember, it was your team that was absolutely DESTROYED on Halloween.Next. :stillers:

I don't blame the players, I blame playing most of their games under perfect conditions. I believe teams get so used to playing under ideal conditions that it's difficult to adjust to playing in bad weather. How many dome teams how won playoff games on the road outside in bad weather?

Roethlisberger had the advantage of being a rookie without much film to study on him. Now that we've played him once and he's got some game film the team can watch, watch out.

If the Steelers somehow manage to get past the Patriots, the Eagles will beat them anyway.

So Big Ben is gonna be the first QB to NOT be confused by a BB coached D?
That was supposed to happen the first game remember, anyway, the run game will be the key to victory for the Steelers.

Belicheck can game plan and study as much film as his heart desires, but it comes down to execution. And the fact of the matter is, the Patriots will have a VERY hard time stopping Pittsburgh's running game. Feel free to prove me wrong.

I think only the Patriots can prove you wrong, and we'll find out next week.GG

The first PIT-NE game was an anomaly. PIT had 0 INTs, 0 fumbles, and gave up 0 sacks. NE had 4 turnovers and gave up 4 sacks. NE fell behind 21-3 in the first quarter. PIT had 49 rushing attempts, NE had 6. Dillon did not play and Ty Law was injured during the game. It has taken time, but NE's secondary has adjusted to the loss of their CBs. Not sure what the line will be, but taking the PATs and the points may be a good bet.

Belichick is 13-0 when he faces a QB the SECOND time. And a much worse 2001 Patriots team beat an outstanding team in 01, a team very comparible to this year's team.

The Steelers 01 team wasnt as good as this one. That game was freakin ######ed though - a re-punt from the goalline because of ######## Troy Edwards returned for a TD and a freakin blocked FG returned for a TD?? That whole playoff season was crazy (the tuck etc.)anyway, this D is better than that year's IMHO and may be better than the '94 Blitzburgh team that lost to SD in the AFC championship (that team as a whole was better than the '95ers that lost to the Cowboys in the SB IMO).This team just plays and exudes something that the past Steelers teams of the last 2 decades havent. You can feel it in the air at the stadium. You didnt feel this way the last few times when they had Kordizzy and Maddox - but there was a similar feeling in 94-95.

For the second time this season, yes.
So, Roethlisberger>Manning?
No. But:Steelers D > Colts DThe Patriots and Steelers are very much alike, especially now that they have Dillon. The team that makes less mistakes will probably win, so the Steelers have there work cut out for them. Go Steelers! :stillers:

haterthe freakin' Stillers are lucky the Jets don't have a decent kicker....anyone think this stiff still has a job? ...NFWif your boy Ben doesn't play any better next week than he did yesterday, it'll be a long afternoon for the Black and Golddoesn't bother me, one way or the other....if the Steelers make it to the SB @ 17-1, I can bask in the memory of a very pleasant Sunday afternoon in Sept the one and only game we fielded our entire starting 11 on offense---and pounded the Steelers into submission, preventing them from running the table

An impartial view...

New England has a huge advantage in this game. Namely, the QB situation. Brady is a two-time S.B. MVP who doesn't have to face a Belichick defense. Meanwhile, Big Ben just did not look comfortable on Saturday, and truthfully, they should not even be playing this coming Sunday. You may get away with one DUD performance in the playoffs.... but it won't happen again against a sound, disciplined team like the Pats.

New England 23

Pittsburgh 16

I just can't see this Pats team losing to the same team twice in one season. Bill has the film from the first meeting, the players will be well prepared, and a healthy Dillon. Not saying that the Pats are going to run away with this, but it should be a good game.I'll take Brady over Big Ben.

I agree. I think it will be a great smashmouth game. Fewest mistakes should win. That's why the focus on Ben will be so intense. As good as he is, he has had some shaky moments against lesser D's lately. He might be hurt. And he has never played in a bigger game.Patriots 17 (1 defensive TD)Steelers 13

I'll take Bettis/Duce and the Steelers D over Dillon.Rudi Johnson in week 4 is the ONLY RB to run for more than 80 yards on the Steelers all season.

This game will not be decide by either QB. Both QB's will generously have stats of 150-175 yds with 1 maybe 2 TD's if lucky. They will throw under 30 passes and none of them will be over 20 yds. The team that will win will go to the defense that stops the run effectively.

The Pats will beat the Steelers by at least 7. When thet played in week 7 the Pats did not have Dillon and only rushed the ball 6 times for 5 yards. It was 14-3 when the Steelers ran an INT back for a TD. I guarantee that will not be the case this time.Pats-- 24Steelers- 13

You are right . The score won't that high.

It will be a cold, nasty night game in the the 'burgh, winds swirlin' so bad that extra points will feel like field goals.

Steelers D will control the game - shut down Dillon (who they know very well) & hit Brady so many times he'll need an ID bracelet to know his name.

The tandem of the Bus & Duce will score 2 TDs to NE's insignficant one.

Steelers 14, Pats 7.

HERE WE GO STEELERS, HERE WE GO!

Question for Johnny U:Even if you are disgruntled...even if you actually believe in what you're saying...why on earth would you use this forum to vent? It makes you look like an ### and I'm guessing you're better than that.Look, you lost tonight. Accept it and move on. It shouldn't be all that difficult seeing that this is familiar territory for both you and the whole of ColtsNation.Move on. Coming from one who is also a Red Sox fan, let me familiarize you with a former favorite saying of ours...there's always next year.

Is pittsburg still in the playoffs?
I know I've asked for it before...but can we upgrade the board software to something that includes an "ignore" function? I know my enjoyment of this place would go up significantly.

Well, if you feel like getting technical, the Jets are lucky the Chargers didn't have a rookie kicker or they wouldn't have even made the trip to Heinz Field.Oh and they are also lucky to put up a whopping 3 offensive points and stick around for as long as they did. That, my felon loving friend, is luck.

:goodposting: And honestly, HONESTLY, would you rather have Bettis, Duce, and the Steeler OlineorDillon, Faulk, and the Patriots Oline?I know which combo I would pick.
