Good game and nice win for the Boilermakers over the hottest team in the conference.
Well it's not like he ever said "I'm going to effing kill you"! To the opposing coach. Oh wait. He’ll get 2 games from the league. Up to the university to step up and do the right thing and dismiss him from his position
MI needs to use this to terminate his contract with causeHoward should be suspended for the rest of the season, at minimum
Fire his ###. That’s ridiculous
once a thug always a thug
Looked like Diabate and Williams all threw punches.
Yes - I heard the band playing it as the scuffle was winding down.Just wondering…did they actually sing Varsity?

Rutgers has some good players. Cliff Omoruyi posterizing Edey was something.Good game and nice win for the Boilermakers over the hottest team in the conference.
Of course it is SMHWell it is now a "racial" incident. The Ticket this morning is getting tons of call from black folk supporting Howard saying "A white man should never put his hands on a black man" Howard`s response was a "cultural" response, and all black men would do the same.
Another report. this morning is that the assistant who got slapped yelled FU at Howard.
In a strange way I like these fiery incidents. Tom Izzo is old school that way with how he treats players who screw up, now Howard goes after a coach.
The Bobby Knight era is back in the BIG!!
Yes...the big bad intimidating Gred Gard.Well it is now a "racial" incident. Yes...the big bad intimidating Gred Gard.
Howard came to him pulling the mask down confronting him...he was the aggressor, the one trying to intimidate and his first reaction of being touched on the elbow is to grab Gard's shirt and then point in his face. Again, showing more signs of aggression and attempts to intimidate.
The next point...that was all pretty much done...and Howard comes back to take a swing at another coach.
The whole need to defend Howard Ive seen out there is just so strange to me.
Quite a few people actually have been. Desmond Howard, Rex Champman...several with that "don't put your hands on the man" type narrative. There have been some...and its just ridiculous.Who is defending him? Some idiots on a call in show? Who cares?
for our futureTotally agree. The groundwork is already being set...I predict (even though it's almost already happening) that the aftermath will be significantly more ridiculous than the "brawl" itself.
- They called a timeout up by 15

- They were in a full court press down by 15

- He put his hands on me

- I'll remember this

- Gard isn't allowed to touch a black man

- He should be suspended

- He should be fired

- Can't fire or suspend a black coach... that's racist!

- BIG punishment will be too lenient/aggressive

Up until now, Juwan is the only one with a history of having a problem with them...On eliminating the handshake line after college games:
"Not shaking hands, that's typical of our country right now. instead of solving the problem, let's make an excuse instead of confronting and demanding it change."
Yeah... but that's what many are proposing as a solution to this "brawl" situation. Let's just cancel the handshake line, then we won't have issues. Instead, WTF don't we just stop being wussies and be good human beings?Up until now, Juwan is the only one with a history of having a problem with them...
Yep, says a lot about today's cultureYeah... but that's what many are proposing as a solution to this "brawl" situation. Let's just cancel the handshake line, then we won't have issues. Instead, WTF don't we just stop being wussies and be good human beings?
There’s a sane voice of reason for ya…
Fire his ###. You can’t have a guy like that in a leadership role.

at least Fran has never taken a swing at another coach and landed before, that we know of…

Yea I listened...Didn't listen to Bilas, eh?

Point is he talked about sportsmanship, which Howard has shown time and time again to be something he severely lacks.
Again, the larger point is, Howard assaulted someone. Like your own AD said in his statement:
“There is no excuse for any of our staff or student-athletes to get into a physical altercation with others regardless of instigating factors.”
okYea no ####. I said up last night that there was no excuse for what Juwan did.
But we had gone off on a tangent about how handshake lines are kind of stupid. And that's what I was replying to.

I guess making him coach in the NIT should be considered part of the punishmentMichigan will suspend men’s basketball coach Juwan Howard for the rest of the regular season, a source tells Yahoo Sports.

That's an appropriate punishment. I hope they also make him take some anger management.
