Big Ten Basketball 2022/2023 - Return to Power (1 Viewer)

Vitale is ruining this game. You have to let the game breathe a little. Not every single moment of the game needs to be commented on.

Too much Oladipo and not enough made free throws. Congrats IU. Hell of a game tonight.
Thought Appling laid an egg in this one. Missed FTs, missed FGs, and not his best night on defense. Needed that win. Hopefully they can pull out the next few...
To be fair, quite a few of his shots were while he was being fouled in the act of shooting, and they just wouldn't drop. But then, you have to hit the FT's , and tonight he didn't. Very off game for him. I do have to say Adrien Payne is going to be a monster if he sticks around. He's improved immensely since last year.Another fun time at the Bres tonight. Was as loud as it was at the Michigan game. Crazy. Great to see Magic back home. Glad I didn't have to endure Vitale on the TV. oooff

Spartans choked this away big time.Missed free throws by both Appling and Harris at critical times. Unbelievably bad performance from Appling and Dawson. Harris played good until he choked the game away.Oladipo good, Zeller still overrated.

Used to be the refs dictated many a game in the B1G. This year in particular it seems they aren't calling anything really, they are really letting them play. And because they aren't calling anything, it seems they try to make up the difference by calling horribly bad calls on ticky tack crap. I haven't figure it out yet this year. Very weird though.

7 of 16 5 rebounds and getting blocked by a freshman doesn't impress me. Neither did his first game where he scored what 7 or 9 vs MSU. He is a good college player but no way he is a top 5 pick. He kind of plays like a scrawny Hansbrough. Hansbrough was the master of wildly flailing his arms to draw a foul.Plus anyone that is going to elbow a dude in the nuts, then act like he gets hit in the nuts and immediately look at the ref, is a whiny b.

This is a bad example, but there are a lot of fans in this thread that I really respect. I think that Michigan State and Indiana epitomize a lot of the decade old values that still ring true in Big Ten basketball. That game tonight was a battle. I'm obviously thrilled Indiana won, but it was a Final Four atmosphere. It was everything that is great about the Big Ten.There are some fantastic players in the conference, and Cody Zeller, Gary Harris, Victor Oladipo, Keith Appling, Christian Watford, and Adreian Payne are all part of that conversation; but anyone who doesn't want Cody Zeller on their team is a ####### idiot.

Payne is stout! Nix seems too inconsistent but is tough to handle when he's on. Oladipo has to be in the picture for POTY.Zeller isn't aggressive enough but part of it is due to he doesn't have to be most nights. Next year he will dominate without Oladipo, Hulls, and Watford there.

How about all that time Payne and Nix spent on the bench both games because they kept fouling him?
I believe payne had one foul vs him on a fast break from behind? Who looked like a better NBA player yesterday Payne, or Zeller?

Who said they didn't want Zeller on their team, where did that come from?

Oladipo is a highlight reel every night
:goodposting: Great game last night. I truly thought Sparty would find a way to pull it out. Hats off to IU, as that was a darn physical game, and they never seemed to lose their composure. They shoot the ball extremely well as a team, they play solid team defense, and they have more than one player that can take over a game at any time No real weaknesses. If they play well, they should not get beat. The rest of the Big 10 is likely fighting for 2nd in the regular season now.

IU @ UM to close out the regular season should be phenomenal.

The Thursday game between Iowa and Nebraska is moved to Saturday night because of a snow storm ready to hit the midwest Thursday.I'm looking forward to this game. This is a big game for Iowa, they need to keep pace with Illinois and Minnesota if they want to stay in the NCAA tournement hunt.
