Wasn't the story that the fan, who caught the ball entirely out of the field of play (and therefore legally) got a gratuitous shove from the player afterward, and the fan had just undergone knee surgery (unbeknownst to the player, but still)?

That is the crux of the story, but I am not trying to instill bias. I really think the knee surgery thing has nothing to do with how either of them acted.

Reds fan legally prevents an out for the opposing team. Not sure how the fan could be considered a ##### here. He helped his team,

Almost like asking who's the bigger doosh between Rodman and that camera guy kick he kicked in the nuts. Almost.

And, BTW, the finger came after the shove.

In almost all circumstances, the player has to be the professional and walk away.

Well after that vicious shove, I am sure the scales are balanced between the Reds and Cardinals. Never mind the poor journeyman catcher that is out of baseball thanks to Johnny Cueto's repeated head kicks.

The player and it's not even close. Now, if this were a Cardinals home game and the fan is a Cardinals fan, then the fan is, by far, the bigger doosh.

You forgot an option in the poll:

3) Whiny Reds fans looking to make a bigger deal out of this
Who's whining? Someone made a comment about the situation so I decided to see if he was right or not. There is no bias my posts. If you didn't know me you you'd have no idea whose "side" I was on.

Post-game interview.

So, who is bigger "doosh". The player who pushed the fan that claimed after the game he didn't, or the fan who taunted the player with the ball and gave him the finger on national TV.
I really did not notice the fan taunting. The shoving was uncalled for, IMHO.
The taunting I am referring to is the waving of the ball at the player.
You mean after the push?

What does this have to do with something that happened between players on the field 4 years ago?

Cards fans...so predictable.

After the shove?
Watch the video and decide.

I've watched a few times but haven't seen where the shove happens. Did he shove/push with his shoulder or his glove? Initial impression is its a non-story.

Basically this all goes back to the player. The fan was well within his rights to catch the ball. If the player hadn't created drama there wouldn't be any drama.

Pretty clearly pushed him in the chest with his glove. It wasn't major but as a pro ball player he doesn't get to do that.

OK - I see it now in the live shot. I was focusing on the slow-mo replays where the shove isn't shown. In this case, the fans get to act how they want, player has to take the high road.

yeah..totally the player is the bigger doosh. Wonder if he'll be punished? I don't follow baseball, but if this were the NFL you know Goodell would give that guy a healthy 6 game suspension.

Don't think either guy is a doosh. Player fell into the stands, that's not really a "shove" when he gets up. It looks to be a good natured "you got me". Fan saved his team an out, he can crow however he wants.

He definitely pushed the guy, but it was probably a reflex reaction. Here's a better shot.

The finger wasn't necessary. Wagging the ball in his face was probably enough. But he had every right to the ball

Yeah I have seen people calling for a suspension but that seems a bit much. Fine the guy a bit so he remembers not to do it again and move on as it was pretty minor really.

I initially thought it may have been a "nice catch" tap, but Adams removed all questions about that with his post game memory loss.

Sarcasm. read a few of my other posts - Adams is not entitled to shove a fan. It was just an opportunity to continue the hate on Cueto. I have nothing against the Reds or their fans - just Cueto. If the Reds become relevant I will start worrying about them.

Sarcasm? My bad. Just figured it was part of your continual obsession.

True, I am obsessed with the fact that I hated the Reds intensely when they were relevant - mainly due to the unholy triumvirate of Dusty Baker, Johnny Cueto and Brandon Phillips. Phillips and Cueto are the only reprobates on your current roster. The rest I am sure are wonderful people as are the fine fans of that lovely city.

I took it as a bro-shove. The fan should have been honored to get a bro-shove from a professional athlete, opposing team or not. The taunting and finger flipping afterwards were total bush-league, and frankly, lowbrow.

Fan = bigger doosh

I'd say it was ok after the shove. Not sure the finger is necessary, and the little broad looks like she had a mouth on her, but the taunting was warranted.

The 1B guy was just telling him nice catch. It was like from one player to another. Then the fan turns on the doosh switch and acts like an A Hole while the player walks back to 1B.

Easily the fan is the bigger doosh.

I voted player. I am a Reds fan, so admittedly biased, but I did laugh when he was waving the ball in his face. The finger was dooshy, for sure, but no real harm was done on either side, so I think its a non-issue.
