Bill Clinton: We're All Mixed Race People (1 Viewer)

Given that his wife is in the running for becoming the US’s first ever female president, you’d think Bill Clinton might keep schtum on controversial topics. But the former American president has ruffled quite a few feathers after playing down Barack Obama’s historic presidency.

Clinton took issue with the assumption that Obama is the US’s first mixed-race president. He said: “Unless your ancestors, every one of you, are 100 percent, 100 percent from sub-Saharan Africa, we are all mixed-race people.”

When I saw the headline I thought he was going to say something along the lines of my sig but he's just being a dbag again.

At least Meryl Streep gets it:

Code:
“The thing that I notice is that there is a core of humanity that travels right through every culture,” she said. “And after all, we’re all from Africa originally, you know. We’re all Berliners; we’re all Africans, really.”

He's right. James Michener made that argument long ago in the novel Hawaii. But some people won't understand, and I can't see how this will help Hillary.

He's incredible, he's the gift to Hillary's opponents that just keps on giving.

He's fallen to 39% favorability in Gallup in January btw.

Now try again but pretend like Trump said that Obama isn't really the first black president, which he could have he just didn't think of it in time:

He is technically right, but completely missing the point
Right.  If somebody wants to make an abstract argument about how race is really just a social construct, that's fine.  (Probably wrong, but fine).  But it's just completely ludicrous to suggest that I'm "mixed race" in a socially-similar way to Obama.
