Bills @ Bears Game Thread (preseason) (1 Viewer)

Bills offense looking meh in their first series. Bears moving the ball now.

Marcel Darius is a beast on that line for the Bills. He's already been in Cutler's face.

...and as I write this, Darius sacks Cutler.

ETA: just saw the replay. Darius was double teamed on that play too. He shed both blockers to get Cutler.

:excited:

Dareus is a beast and Merriman actually created the pressure for the sack. Those two could make this defense fairly decent.

Fred Jackson is looking good. Gave a Bear a wicked stiff arm for a nice gain.

Also, I forgot to mention that Merriman was in the mix a lot in the first Bears series as well.

Wildcat siting. Brad Smith under center. Didn't go for much, but Gaily seems willing to show it in preseason.

Buffalo down to the Bears' 35.

Spiller getting equal plays as Jackson. Just caught a nice pass. Had a couple carries too. They didn't go for much, but damn can that guy dance and make people miss.

Apparently Urbik is getting destroyed. The Bills look even more foolish for not making sure they got themselves a RT upgrade. Especially with Gaither on the market until this past week.

These first two Bills series tells me that PPR league C.J. Spiller owners should hang on to him.

Gaily definitely wants to get him involved in the game. Their last play was a 5-wide set with Spiller getting the ball in a slot receiver screen pass.

The guys looks like the second coming of Reggie Bush to me. I don't know if that means he'll get 90 receptions this year, but that looks like how Gaily will use him.

Merriman sack!

Bills D looks *gasp* good.

Looks like Donald Jones started outside and David Nelson started inside but the Bills have basically been in 3 wides or more every snap and Roscoe is out so not sure what they'll do when he's playing.

All of these LEAD THE CHARGE! ads by the Bills are kinda sad and desperate.

Was Roy Williams even playing? What number is he in Chicago? 81? 11?

All the Bears WRs were invisible though. Knox caught one nice pass, that's about it.

So the Bears' choice to kick off from the 30 instead of the 35 has resulted in starting field position for the Bills from the 27 & 33, an injury and a penalty negating a turnover.

TD Hanie! TD Bears! Did you see that blocking?!?!?!?!?!
Wha happen?
3rd and goal from the 4 yard line. Bills were in nickel and everyone dropped into coverage. Hanie saw the middle wide open, tucked the ball, and ran into the end zone untouched.
nice. had we gone to him immediately in NFC championship game I think we would have had a chance. worst in-game management of players I have ever witnessed. Just a gutless, unforgivable move.[/bitter]

Why do NFL commentators feel the need to begin every comment with "You talk about..."

They all do it. You talk about being maddening, then you're talking about NFL commentators with no personality.

Todd Collins was our quarterback.

Bills fans - is Marcus Easley safe? Does he have to work for a roster spot? The Bills WR corps is quite deep. How do you see this shaking out?

impossible to say since he's been hurt for nearly his entire NFL career thus far. He's got a chance to move up the depth chart if he starts actually practicing and doing something, but they also have a lot of guys they like in:Stevie JohnsonDavid NelsonRoscoe ParrishBrad Smith (QB)Donald JonesNaaman RooseveltCraig DavisWith Smith mostly playing QB in the wildcat, it looks to me like Easley is competing with those bottom 3 right now. They probably won't keep them all but it's tough to say who is likely to get cut at this point.
