Bills D/ST, are they for real? (1 Viewer)

Looking to grab a Waiver Wire D since my Vikings gave me a fat ZERO in Week 1 and I don't like their chances against an angry IND team.

Targeted them in all my leagues, so I'd say they're for real. A lot of solid players on that side of the ball. Figured they would be my starter every week except the bye and when they go up against NE, but now I'll watch and see how that offense holds up.

I like the chances of the Buffalo defense. Buffalo was part of the DTBC along with New Orleans. I drafted both teams and got them late.

A couple of things have made me more bullish on them. Jacksonville, their opponent this week, lost both starting guards. That should make it easier on the

Buffalo defense this week. In addition, the loss of Brady makes New England less of an offensive powerhouse. Regardless of whether you think that losing

Brady results in any more losses to New England, it certainly means that they will score fewer points. That changes two of the Bills more challenging games

into a matchup that looks much better than it did at the beginning of the season.

I have MIN and BUF defense but I wouldn't give up on MIN yet. There was a lot of emotion at that GB game and they are still a great FF option.

I'd definitely use them in the line-up against a Jax team with no O Line. Stroud is going to dominate. Then I'd go week to week, but if the scoring is weighted towards special teams then they are easily top 6 in the league on a week in and week out basis.

Vikings D was dominant until Rodgers connected with Jennings on that long pass play...if that did not happen, the game would have been different. Also the Vikes had 2 golden fumble recovery chances that they did not pounce on...again a different game if that happens. Dallas D only put up a point or two this week, would you drop them?

Buffalo D is for real and a good option. Carry on

I'm a Bills fan so I'm biased, but I really like their defense. They had a ton of injuries on that side of the ball last season and should be MUCH improved from last year with guys back healthy. Add in Marcus Stroud creating problems in the middle and freeing up the DEs and LBs more, Youboty finally figuring things out as the #3 CB and the several return TDs that the ST unit will have this season and things look pretty good for their defense this year. That's not to mention their soft schedule.

The only thing to be careful of, is Seattle really didn't have anyone to throw the ball to, and when they did, the WRs dropped an awful lot of passes. Really, that entire offense is awful except for Hasselbeck. So don't try and take TOO much from that first game. The Bills certainly aren't going to have 6 sacks every week.

Yeah the Seahawks were pretty weak on offense with no ground game and nobody for Hasselbeck to throw to.

Tenn looked good vs Jax last week as well, but with Haynesworth in their lineup the Titans are built to stop the run and of course Jax is a run first team.

So, of the Bills D/ST and the Titans D/ST who would you roll with?

I had Buff but dropped them for Bucs def before the season started. Now I'm kicking myself. I'll put in a waiver request but I'm sure they'll be gone.

And you also forgot to mention Maurice Morris also leaving the game due to injury. Seattle's injuries and ineptitude should not be overlooked here. From a fantasy perspective, the Bills defense may still be intriguing just given how soft their schedule is this year.

I went with Buffalo Defense and New Orleans Defense in my draft. I have been pleasantly pleased with Buffalo Defense so far. But, Buffalo has a weak spot in their schedule with a bye in week 6 and San Diego in week 7.

I originally went with New Orleans in the draft because Footballguys said it was a "shark" move based on matchups.

New Orleans

Week 6: vs Oakland

Week 7 at Carolina

However, I am thinking Washington D may be the better D to compliment with Buffalo. This week Wash has Dallas and next week Philthadelphia so they may be on your wire.

Wooshington

Week 6: St. Louis

Week 7: Cleveland

This didn't look like a shark move for defense by committee but what about now?
